Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Pro Rocket BE Baitcast Fishing Reel

I am a very avid fisherman. I fish catfish constantly. These reels hold alot of line, I spool with 40lb big game Trilene. I have them on 8' catfish Ugly stik rods and can cast an average of 80 yards with a 4 ounce weight. I can get some 100 yard casts but rod power is the issue. I put these on a 10' catfish rod Ugly Stik, and I was able to consistently cast 120 yards, I verify by counting the hand cranks back and count from when the weight hits the water not after sinking. Ok so the dual spool tension knobs are great. I set the handle side one first and then adjust the other side as needed to compensate for weight size and wind. I have never adjusted the crakes inside. The reels really cast smoothly, I have taken them snapper fishing, and the drag works well. The price is fair for such a quality reel. Out of habit I checked all the screws on both of the reels and on e was actually loose in the handle side. Glad I checked. I have owned these for 2 years now and zero issues, and hardly ever and backlash. The reels are very easy to adjust and get to cast well. I cast hard and far and fish 3-4 days a week and these reels have shown zero wear or stress. Highly recommend for sure and they really are the perfect size catfish reel. Biggest fish was a6' blacktop I caught this year. I catchall of catfish and I fish for big fish not babies. I have yet to find anything to challenge this reel to the point of stress, even the shark got whipped by this reel.

Absolutely a great Abu Garcia product. This is the best Abu product I have bought yet. Even with over a year on the shelf, this reel performs like out of the box so corrosion resistance on this reel is top-notch. I can't see a better surf fishing reel than this one!

I ordered this reel but unfortunately received the wrong one. My review will be based on my friend’s reel, this is a high quality reel at a good price. His reel is made in Sweden so I’m not sure if it’s the same as the ones from Asia. Highly recommend

I love this reel and can’t wait to catch some more cats on it, they wasn’t to big but this reel is the best one I’ve owned and it cast smooth as could be, definitely plan on a few more for other poles in the future

I have tons of Abu Garcia's, round and low pro. I am loyal to the brand always have been think it runs in the family lol . I just bought this reel a few months ago. It's on a 7ft MH Penn rod with 30lb KastKing braided line. Its hauled in specs,reds(bulls), small shark, and many more. I can tell this is one that will last a life time if taken care of. I still have Abu's that are up to 30+ years old that I still use on every fishing trip.
