Beads and Threads: A New Technique for Fiber Jewelry

Not what I expected, but I'll keep book, and maybe attempt to make something, Thank you anyway/

I'm a big fan of Diane Fitzgerald, and being a knitter and beader, I was intrigued by this out-of-print book. It has some beautiful designs using a loom approach for threads and working in the beads. I don't work with a loom, and doubt that I will start, but it gives me ideas for some things I might do with beads and fibers - through kumihimo or knitting, crocheting or tatting.There are beautiful intricate patterns, and the color photos show off the results - primarily beautiful bib-style necklaces.

This book was not at all what I thought it was. I have a couple of Diane Fitzgerald's beading books and I thought this would be another take on beading, it was not. It should have been titled "Hand-woven Jewelry with Beads". Since it was such a deal, I am keeping it but probably will never make anything from it unless I should happen to get into weaving.

Great book with great and diverse examples of the use of this kilim weaving technique adapted for jewelry making. The technical diagrams are good. I do advise to take a hands-on class to learn it as there are quite a few details of the making process that are hard to figure out by just using the book. The book is perfect as an adjunct to a class.

I loved the different ways that the contributors approached the idea of a woven neckpiece as jewelry.The pictures are wonderful and inspiring. I am aware this is an older book, but this still canbe a good guide for weavers wanting to make decorative neckpieces in their favorite medium.I believe there is a new updated version of this book by Helen Baines and her daughter.

Great book. Excellent designs very detailed.

Everything about this book is great from the wonderful pictures to the great illustrated and written instructions. Should be very easy to follow. A great variety of necklaces. I love the use of embellishments from around the world honoring different cultures. The best of help for anyone wanting explore this art.

Beautiful designs / patterns in this publication. I have not personally made any of them...YET! If you love beading, you will love this book.

表紙を見て買いましたが、中身も個性たっぷりで、伝授したい何とも言えない技法でした。ビーズアクセサリーと言えるのかちょっと疑問ですが・・・個性派向きにはたまらない１冊かもしれません。
