Can this be mounted horizontally?

There’s another model in this same line which is meant to mount horizontally. I would say that this one can also be mounted horizontally but the other one can’t be mounted vertically.

How big the the base?

The escutcheon measures 2in x 2in.

Will this hold mega rolls?

No, they are not made to hold mega sized rolls. But you can simply just pull it off and unravel The toilet paper until there’s less toilet paper on the role.
