Amped LRC200 Wireless Apollo PRO, Long Range HD Wi-Fi Camera, Black

Bought this camera and could not get it set up for the life of me. Called the company's tech support, who doesn't actually pick up the phone, you have to leave a voicemail and they may or may not call you back. Called 4 or 5 times before I actually got ahold of someone. Tech support guy walked me through the setup (the same exact setup as what the app walks you through, so phone call was pointless). Camera would not connect despite having an 86% reach with my network. Tech support guy decided that the camera must be defective and i should exchange it for another, which I did. New one comes in the mail and still does not connect.Update: I finally got it working for a few uses. But on my last time trying to use it, it wouldnt connect at all and it never will. The app for this camera hasnt been updated since 2016 so it cant be used with my phone or network.

Just what I was looking for. This is my 2nd attempt and I love what I got. Works perfectly. Easy set up.

It works, just wish we didnt need a router to use it. If my phone has wifi and this device has wifi (and you connect the two together for setup), why are you forced to use another wifi network. Should have the option only not the requirement. Very pixelated but works up close. Simple enough for the price though amd i use on my newly purchased galaxy s9 plus.

I could never get the software to connect on my phone. The software is terrible! I did contact tech-support and the guy couldn’t help me. It should be simple to add the camera to the app on my phone and I tried about 15 times with no luck. The tech-support guy had no clue what to do. He told me just to go ahead and return it. he didn’t give me any confidence in their product during our conversation. I have a number of ring cameras and just wanted something cheap with long range to put in my chicken coop. I wouldn’t waste my money on this one because the software stinks!!!

We have had great luck with Amped Wireless and would definitely recommend this product. Just so you know, we have 2 children under the age of 3 and 1 of them has Amped in their room and 1 of them has their competitor Dropcam's Nest in their room.Amped was very easy to setup both physically and by installing the app on my phone (and is easy to use the app). The quality of the visual it portrays is on par with Nest as well as the night vision- I am extremely satisfied. if it matters to you, this camera doesn't alert me to someone entering the baby's room which is fine with me. Our Nest alerts us but it picks up things like the wind moving the curtains around (which can get annoying always getting notifications).Side note that we use the product Echo (which allows you to control the temp in your home from an app on your phone) which is a Nest product so they sync together. Meaning, when I pull up Nest from my iphone it also tells me the temp in my house. Since Amped is owned by a different manufacturer, they do not sync together. This really doesn't matter but I thought I should mention in case you wanted you had these products and wanted them to sync.Again, I am very satisfied with this product. We have had Amped now for a couple months and I have been waiting to review since this is an expensive purchase but I am happy to say that I would buy this again or gift to a friend!

Didn't even turn it on. Says it was wireless and it wasn't.

WOW, where do I start. RUN AWAY from this POS. To start, it has NO instructions on how to mount the unit. bunch of goofy pieces with no labeling or even a parts description in the crappy instructions.took over 1 hour to get it to work after several frustrating issues with just setting up the appollo app account. I am not a computer expert but also pretty good with tech stuff and live on the computer.after about 75 minutes of retrying over and over again to get it connected and working, moved the camera to another room and now it will not connect at all after another 40 minutes of trying everything.EVEN if I can get it to work, note that this does not have any panning capabilities with limits is usefullnes and it does not have the capability to detect motion etc and automatically records to a local device unless you pay for their cloud service.when I had the camera working for a few minutes I noticed the picture was very grainy and I was in a well lit room. not sure how they say its HD.to summarize, a nightmare to set up, then stopped working. very limited features and have to pay if you want to record anything while you are away.I have seen $50 cameras that can do more. literally in the trash this goes. I wish I can get the almost 2 hours of my life back form all the frustration this thing has caused. thank God I did not pay for it as it was via the VINE program.This is not an almost $200 camera even if it worked. The camera is only 15 feet from my wireless network and I never had any problems ever with anything else wireless in the past except for this thing. also noticed when i did have it working for a few minutes that it was in black and white, then went to color and then back to black and white.eventually got this to work but really not that great of a camera.

The Amped Apollo Pro Wireless camera is a security device that you can use virtually anywhere in your home or small business. Amped have been thoughtful in providing you with both a stand so that you can place the camera on a desk or bookstand etc. in your house/office but have also provided you with a way to install the camera on a wall should you wish a more permanent placement.Setting up the Apollo device is very simple. You will need to download an app from the app store (Android and IOS supported), then simply follow the instructions when you first start the app to walk you through setting up the device, connecting it to your wireless network and ultimately connecting back to Amped in the cloud. The camera itself does require power but Amped have supplied a very generous power cord that should make placing the camera anywhere you wish easy enough.The camera itself records either single images or video in 720p HD (not full HD as I would have expected) and also a "night vision" allowing it to see in low light. This unfortunately is not automatic and is a toggle in the settings within the app. The can either be on all the time or it can be motion activated or noise activated. Both the motion and noise activation work well. They are not too sensitive that the camera basically trips on all the time but not too dull that it misses things. The Apollo device also features a built in speaker. This allows you to talk into your phone and that is relayed through the speaker in the device. So for example, if you decide to mount it near your front door and set it to motion activate. When someone comes to your front door the camera will activate, you will get notified on your phone and you can bring up the picture of who's at the front door and even ask them who they are or what they want without having to get up and answer the door.The device itself is not all that small, standing at around 5 or so inches tall and you can add roughly another 5 inches for the antennae but it does work well. Produces clean sharp video or still images and the audio quality, whilst not the best is fairly clear and not garbled. The camera features a 10x zoom on it however it is a digital zoom so the more you zoom in, the lower the quality of the resulting image. The camera also features a nice wide 110 degree field of view.However there is a bit of a rub with the Amped Apollo. Whilst you are within wifi range, everything works just as expected however to get the most from the camera you will want to be able to use it whilst you are not within wifi range. To do this you must sign up for and pay to use Ampeds cloud services. The plans are fairly reasonable starting out at just $3 a month but there is no way to decouple from the Amped cloud and use your own. For example, I have Western Digital cloud hard drives that I could use to store and replay video over the cloud that is accessible to me anywhere but I cannot configure the device to record to there. Or to Microsoft or Google cloud services. Therefore as well as paying nearly $200 for the device itself, you will also be paying a fee each month to basically use it.Can you use this as a security device? Sure. You can also just as well use it as a high tech baby monitor, office monitor or whatever else you dream up as long as you are within wifi range of your network. For the most part I would classify this as more of a monitoring system rather than a security system.
