I enjoyed her frank and upfront perspective on the good and bad times of her life thus far. I always enjoy learning about someone’s personal story and I admire her for being brave and sharing her innermost thoughts with her readers.A few of my favorite quotes from the book:‘Let’s proudly share our quirks. Be you and embrace your differences as things that make you unique and special. “Different” shouldn’t be considered confusing, negative, or something that divides us. It should be a quality we applaud and admire within ourselves and others.’‘I want to look as strong as I feel. So let me just give you the basics. People as a whole tend to fall into this hugely ridiculous trap of believing that celebrities are different than we are, that they have no real struggles and they don't deal with the garbage we do on a day to day basis. Lily clears that right up, opening up about her life and the trials she has faced in a way that is refreshing and eye opening. I found myself relating to her far more than I would have expected. Mostly, though, I learned a lot about life through this book. I learned lessons I should have implemented in the past and will certainly be implementing in the future. I learned about myself, I learned about parenting, I learned about... Well, life. I highly recommend this book. I also suggest adding the audible narration to it, which I did. She just tells you what she's thought and experienced throughout her life in terms of personal growth, her relationships, her childhood and transition to adulthood, and everyday outlook on life. She is DEFINITELY someone I would love to get to know and gave a coffee or drink with -- whether this is genuine or a carefully constructed persona developed by a publicist I guess I'll never know. But she just seems like a cool chic. Easy quick read. But def worth it. Whether or not there's enough of an accumulation of information and experiences to actually warrant a book is up for debate.
