Great kettle added to my Trangia system
I have been eyeing this kettle for some time to add to my Trangia 25 system to replace the Trangia alu kettle and as a good all rounder for camping. This is a well made kettle and I suspect will give years of service. Other reviewers have praised it in use and I agree. I won't rehearse the plus points here.I wanted to specifically address this kettle's use with a Trangia 25 system. The wide mouth on the kettle makes for easy storage of the Trangia (or Go Systems) gas burner, pot handle and pot scourer. Some reviews suggest that this kettle will sit on the three folding pot supports on the upper windshield. Other reviews suggest the pot supports need a mod to get stability. Which is correct? Both are. I can get the kettle to sit on the three support stands and stay stable, but it take some exact placing.A slight mod to pot holders will make the kettle more stable, but far and away the best solution if you want to use this kettle is Trangia's own pot stand which gives a firm base to the kettle and every other size of pot without modding anything. Its not cheap but really complements this excellent little kettle.Hope this helps. If you are looking for a stainless steel kettle, buy with confidence. It isn't cheap but deals on Amazon are fairly frequent.

Tough and compact
We have REALLY used this little kettle over the past few years, both while camping and even sometimes at home to boil a small quantity of water. It is sturdy, and being stainless steel is probably safer to use on a regular basis than aluminium. Being stainless steel doesn’t make it heavy though, and water begins to boil very fast even on an open fire.It isn’t a big kettle - holds enough water for two people to have an average size mug of tea. But the compact size means it won’t take up a great deal of space in a backpack. Our kettle has seen some serious use over the past two years but, apart from the blackening on the outside, is doing a grand job. Would I buy another - definitely.

Gsi Outdoors Glacier Stainless Steel Kettle
Awesome kettle, stainless steel, large opening for filling with water and big enough to put a stove or similar inside, folding handle, smooth bottom so will sit on a fire, gas stove, Trangia, or Coleman and a good spout for pouring without dribbling, and the lid had a small vent to allow for steam to escape as the water boils. A very well thought out and designed piece of kit and absolutely bullet proof

Robust outdoor kettle
No doubt it's all been said before, but this is a well made, robust 1 litre steel kettle. Suitable for stoves or open fires. Does for say, 2-3 cups. I use it with either an alcohol or hexamine stove for making cups of tea when I'm out for easy walks with my wife. Very civilised! Overall a good product and I'd recommend it to others ( though maybe not to ultralight enthusiasts).

5 Star Item.
I've given it five stars, cos I couldn't give it more. If you are on the look-out for a camping kettle then may I suggest you look no further than this little beauty. It's got no bells or whistles, no flash gimmicks, but it has an understated charm of a item that just does it. Like the friend that is always in the background but always comes through, it has that character about it. I've had mine some time now and would not go without it.
