I finally bit the bullet and purchased this flat iron during a black Friday special. It arrived yesterday and I have used it twice already. Boy, am I impressed! I was a little leery of paying such a high price for a flat iron, but now I know why my naturally curly hair always looks so nice when I leave the salon! My stylist recommended this brand as being one that would work well on my natural curly hair. It is easy to use, heats up extremely fast, styling is snow super quick and has my hair looking shiny and beautiful! My other flat irons were normally between $80 and $130 each. So paying a little extra was definitely worth it. I also did use a heat protectant on my hair prior to use. I will be extremely cautious as I get adjusted to the new grip, as it would be easy to burn myself using this new tool. I am sure it will not be an issue once I get adjusted to it. I have a shoulder length hair and the 1 inch plates were easy to use. So far, the quality seems excellent. If this changes, I will update my review. I would highly recommend! I am including a picture which was taken six hours after I straightened my hair, had worn a winter hat and was in a snowstorm. Normally, my hair would have gotten extremely frizzy and curly. Not this time! Yay!

I had never heard of this brand but it had everything I was looking for. I was skeptical about it having only one heat setting but realized I had always used the same setting on my old flat iron. The heat setting has been fine for me and I really like the size as well. The auto shut off is a nice feature too. It heats up quickly and my hair does seem more shiny than before. It's lightweight and I'm very happy with it. I use it every day and wanted to invest in a quality product so the price seemed fair to me.

This arrived today and it is such cheap quality. The plates are tiny and they pull at your hair instead of gliding. That was before I tried to heat it. I plugged it in and pressed the button. It makes awful high pitch sounds when you first plug it in. Once it is supposedly heated it makes the most awful alien mice squeaky sounds. With no way to silence it. It just keeps making them. It also doesn't heat up after minutes. I unplugged because the button doesn't shut it off and tried again. On 2nd try it got slightly warm but I can still completely touch the plates and leave my fingers there. It also snags your hair because the cheap plates that do not glide at all. Just cause static. My hair is staticy now. The audible sounds are awful. Not what anyone wants next to their ears. Also it doesn't heat after minutes. Not the 30 seconds it advertised. The on off button should shut it off. Plates should glide and not pull hair out. I waited 2 extra days and it's trash. Amazon better return my money immediately. Cheap (drugstore brands are better quality) Doesn't heat The horrible noises it makes are the worst. I imagine even a blind person would find it annoying. Doesn't glide at all and snags hair Static nightmare

Got this on a great sale and it’s the best one I’ve ever used. Makes my wavy/curly hair so straight and it doesn’t get all tangly through the day like cheaper straighteners do. The auto shut off is a great piece of mine just in case I forget to un plug it

I had a prior version of this flatiron for many years and loved it. It was recommended by my hair salon, where they put it to constant use. No bells and whistles, but it heated up quickly, was solid but lightweight, worked well and had an auto shut-off which I appreciated. When that model finally died, I went to buy the updated version and found that the price had increased significantly. I also saw some reviews stating that the quality of this brand had gone downhill. After looking at other options, I bought this again and couldn’t be happier with it. It is still simple, solid, quick-heating and does a great job of straightening my hair in short order. I still appreciate the auto shut-off, as well as the fact that it has international voltage so I can use it in Europe.

My older ghd died on me after years, and I was heartbroken. I tried a babyliss first, and hated it. It was immediately returned for this one. It's still not as good as my OG, but I really like it. I have thick,wavy hair and this brand straightens my hair the best and easiest!

I have been using ghd flat irons for may years. I have tried more expensive models, but they are not as durable, lightweight, or easy to use. They straighten curly hair in a single pass, which makes getting ready in the morning faster. I have used lower cost flat irons only to have it burn up my hair.

Very happy with how this order went! Clear description of the product, and was very to order. Upon ordering the product was delivered to me within half a day. The GHD looks very sleek. I like this new look. A bit different to the older version of this GHD. I last bought a GHD in 2018. This version has a press button to switch on and you press and hold to switch it off. While loading to heat up the light flickers and stops when ready to use, a long with the sound that GHD has in all its straighteners, I enjoy that feature. The heat up time is faster than the previous version. All in all I am happy with this version, I hope it lasts as long as my previous one did - as these are quality products.

Sibling had one of these and I waited for them to become available at an affordable price over here. I would not buy any other brand now, even my hair dresser has switched to this brand. Heats up very quickly, does the job, hair left shiny afterwards.
