Aluminum Watercolor Palette 35 Well (13.8" x 5.9" x 0.9")

I normally like palettes where I can move my paints, meaning I like using pans. I just like the ability to create a new palette whenever I feel like it without having to remove the paint. However, the pans and the added metal plates to help make the pans stay in place just got heavy and super unnecessary. Over time I kind of ended up sticking with a certain set of colors and decided to just try this palette out since it was small enough to fit in my unbalance backpack. Thankfully, I am super happy that I did. The palette is sturdy and super light weight. It is slightly heavier than Altoids mint tin that I have with 18 colors in it! I like the metal on this palette it feels very sturdy and I doubt it would bend or dent in my backpack. The palette also has two mixing wells and if you do not put your brushes in the long well you can use it for more mixing space! Lets just say I am VERY happy I decided to get this. I have not filled all the wells for my paints (since I have a small palette) but if i do get new paints it can easily be added. The only downside, at least for me, is if I ever wanted to rearrange the color I would either have to remove the paint (which is a waste) or use it up but that usually takes a long time, but it looks to me I will most likely keep my color palette anyway so it is not a big problem for me. I highly recommend this palette if you are looking for a sturdy, light weight, and clean looking palette. If you are the type of person that prefers pans over tubed wells then maybe this product is not right for you. Although I still recommend trying it, it is an amazing product.

I wanted (And bought) the 30 well and upon pulling it from the shipping box my first thought was WOW! That's.......big! Bigger than expected. That said it's a very nice palette which I intend to use as a table palette at home (Though you could certainly use it for traveling and en plein air, but it is rather big). Construction, fit, and finish is very nice. No dents, warping, chips, scratches or closing issues. Paint smooth and even. To correct the beading issue some have reported (Like with plastic palettes) I recommend first cleaning it well with soap and water and then using toothpaste (A mild polishing compound) and water and lightly scrub the mixing areas & wells with a toothbrush. Maybe add some baking soda to the toothpaste/water mix. I do this to all my new palettes. I am very pleased with this, a nice under $20.00 metal palette. Recommended.

I am really impressed with this inexpensive watercolour palette! When I paint at home, I prefer to use a ceramic plate, but I love these tin palettes for travel. I have tried a plethora of palettes - some metal and some plastic, but my favourites are coated aluminum tins like this, especially for mixing paints. I keep coming back to them, so no more plastic for me! This particular palette has permanent slots for your paint, as opposed to snap-in pans; this makes it more lightweight. Just squeeze in your favuourite colours and allow them to dry before closing the cover, to avoid a mess. Due to the permanent slots, you are unable to move your paints around if that is your modus operandi; however, that is not necessary for me. The size of this palette fits well in my travel watercolour kit, and it is just as light as any of my plastic palettes and is much lighter than a lot of my small metal palettes with movable half/full pans. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there are some sharp unfinished edges, especially around the thumb hole (which I don't use) and around the closure. I may have hubby grind them down a bit. While the case opens smoothly now, I am somewhat worried that over time it may become difficult to open, as some edges on the closure are sharp and look untreated; that remains to be seen. Regardless, this seems to be an excellent palette for a good price, which I'm sure will give me many years of use!

Perfect. I needed a larger pallet and was looking for one that would take the watercolor in the mixing area without separating and this works perfectly. It stays secure but is not an issue to open. The Aluminum allows you to label the color with waterproof ink making it easier to mix/determine the colors for painting. A great value for the money

It’s a beautiful palette, good quality. It’s a bit large, so function wise, I see it mainly for studio use. It could work for traveling, but it’s somewhat big for that, although it’s not very heavy. I’m also a bit worried the liquid might leak if you don’t let the watercolor dry first (I haven’t tested it yet). What I absolutely love are the large wells for mixing and the metal surface, which has a finish that prevents beading—something watercolor artists really appreciate. However, I didn’t like that the palette arrived with scratches on the exterior. It also has 15 wells on each side (which is great!) and they’re large enough for bigger brushes. What I don’t like about these palettes: – You can’t easily change out the colors (if you prefer that versatility, look for a palette with half pans).

I bought this specifically for my tube watercolor paints. Unlike most of the plastic palettes available, this has slanted wells, which I really like. I can put a dab of paint near the top and then let the watery paint pool at the bottom, which is really handy and doesn't force the entire paint to sit in water. Mine is a 26 well palette and the wells are a little small. They are really fine for my use, but anyone painting in larger scale or painting with acrylics or oils might find these too narrow and limiting. I have had no problems with closing the palette. I tend to let my watercolors dry out before closing so that the colors aren't mixing, so I don't know how airtight this is (I don't need it to be air tight for watercolors. Great value for the artist on a tight budget and recommended.

I do not think this has a finish and it is incredibly staining.

Muy ligera y práctica, funciona perfectamente para realizar las mezclas y rellenar cambiando los colores si quiero ir probando. Recomiendo, ver foto de la caja pues cada paleta tiene unas medidas diferentes según número de pocillos.

Cette palette est parfaite pour moi. Elle est plus grande que les boites à godets, mais pas encombrante au point de ne pas pouvoir la sortir de votre studio. C’est du métal, donc plus agréable (à mon goût) que les palettes en plastiques, sans pour autant être trop lourde. J’en rachèterai très certainement dans l’avenir.
