Del Mex Mexican Diamond Woven Eastwood Poncho

This poncho was a gift for my husband's birthday. We live in the Texas Hill Country, and he needed something to keep warm on the porch in the evenings when the weather cools down. This poncho is perfect, and he loves it! As you can see, he is a tall guy. 6'2"; if one was short, this would be an ankle length poncho! I washed it before giving it to him - the material is good quality and it softened up after washing. A great value for the price, I highly recommend this poncho!

Quite a nice piece of fabric, and very memorable and fun to wear. I'm ~6'2" and in the worn state it reaches a few inches below my knees. In the unfurled state it can cover from over the top of my head to the top of my feet functioning as a nice blanket, as long as one doesn't mind the hole in the middle. It will definitely need to be washed as it comes with a very strong non-organic smell, and possibly needs to air dry for maximum scent removal.The product is advertised from Mexico, I cannot confirm aside from the tag, but my relatives have an authentic Mexican blanket they bought from traveling to the country and both share the type of build quality and feel. As their blanket has lasted 30 years including being used as a cover on a sofa, I can hope poncho can last as long. My only concerns with durability lie in the cutout for the head. It doesn't seem weak, but I take care as to not cause any undue stress to this part.As the pictures posted are of mostly poor quality, here is my example of the Sage green with a common green cap bottle for comparison. The poncho resembles a very dark moss green. Very satisfied with this color.

I did not expect a horse blanket. But I received one anyway. Design is pathetic. Human anatomy shows that the distance from the neck centerline to the ground over the back is more than over the front. Quality clothing designers, (custom suits, et. al.), know this. Grade school children know this. The hole slot in this product is misplaced resulting too much material in front and very little in back. It is too bad that the textile industry was driven out of the country by unions.AMAZON: I see no avenue for feedback/comment concerning you. So, here it is: your 'buy it again" sidebar takes up space and is very annoying. As also is your 'subscribe' to periodic deliveries. I dislike having to click single purchase every time. It should be the default selection. And your search engine is intentionally worthless. You have set it to search for every word and every combination of words. I type in a phrase and your system disassembles it and I get a search result that is bizarre. There are many other words I could use to describe your system/service but I am running out of patience. Your system at one time was easy, friendly, now you are pushy, agravating. There are other companies available...

This was very nice. It is as most described it. It thick enough for me I believe anything much more thicker than this would be difficult to actually wear. It did not have any bad smell at all but was very creased. Considering it was folded for who knows how long I would say the creases would be expected. And yes after wearing it and two washes there is a slight center crease still there. The item is like a rug cut in the middle so those who stated that were right but they neck area is stitched very well so no complaints on the design, color, or stitching. As far as all the comments on the size, it really is fine, these comments are relative to your body height, arm length, weight, I think they did a great job based on the average person. For me it was fine 5'5" and very large xxx size shirts but this fit me fine. If you are looking for something authentic and inexpensive this is it. It fit my budget and does what I need it to. It's great for a costume. I actually just use mine. I would recommend this.

***UPDATE BELOW***I tried ordering this item once before but never received it. Rather than bother trying to track it Amazon just gave my money back. As I was really looking forward to this item I tried again and I’m glad I did. The item looks very sturdy and measures up to an authentic Mexican blanket we have here in the home. It looks like it is durable, but time will tell and I will update. I took off 1 star because this was supposed to be a prime item, yet the seller waits until about three days to ship the item.Update:So I’ve had this item for a little while and one of the things that I’ve noticed is that it attracts lint and hair like a magnet. If you have a dog in the home be prepared for all of her fur to be in this poncho. I have yet to find a way to get all of the fur and lint off. Other than that, it does with a poncho should and I find it for the most part comfortable.

I brought one of these as a gift and liked it so much I had to buy another one for myself!Very sturdy, very cozy, and feels handmade. It's nice to own something that doesn't feel like it was cranked out of a factory by the millions. It's great for wearing around the house in the winter time. I'm sure it'll be nice on night time walks in the spring and summer as well. I'm seriously thinking about getting another one in another color. I figure by rotating two they'll last the rest of my life. (I hope.) :DUpdate: I ordered one with bright red stripes and whatever yarn they used to weave the red stripes had a strong musty smell. It was definitely the red yarn since there was no smell coming from the areas woven in other colors. I washed it several times, then based on internet tips I tried soaking it in baking soda, washing it again, soaking it in vinegar (which is supposed to set dye), then more washing, more baking soda, etc. Finally either because of all the washing or just over time the smell dissipated. My guess is that some red dyes have a nasty smell when new, just like some black jeans. Oh well, it looks great now and doesn't stink, but I knocked off a star for the trouble.

Nice heavy material, not thin and cheap. Keeps you warm. Slight 'new clothe smell' to it that went away in 1 wash. A bit scratchy but 1 wash with fabric sofener fixed that. Love the earthy collors.Fold lines are evident but does not remove the comfort of this garment and I'm confident they will go away with usage and washes. Love the nandmade look and feel of the material.Delivery took a while but within estimated timelines.I am very happy with this product.
