This repair tape works great!
I'm very happy with the Lineco Archival Document Repair Tape. This product saved the day. I had been putting chapter tabs on super thin bible pages. I got careless & made a mistake applying one. The tab became lopsided & looked really bad. I carefully tried to remove it. Unfortunately I still ripped almost an inch of the page. I had read that you shouldn't really use regular tape because the adhesive can be acidic & will yellow with time. Also tape is shiny, that wouldn't have looked good either. I did some research & found this product. It has some good reviews. I figured that I didn't have much to lose & a lot to gain. I applied it on both sides of the paper. It worked out really good. The tape is super thin, comparable to rice paper thin almost comparable to the page paper. As most people have mentioned in their reviews, there is a slight difficulty in removing the repair tape from its backing. I just kept finagling it and I had an X-Acto blade to help separate it. Other than that, I have no complaints. As I said the tape is very thin. It's white colored & almost transparent, iskind of translucent. When I applied it, I kind of rubbed it in on the surface. I think it re helped to improvedthe transparency. Looking at the page, you really can't tell unless you look really close that the page was repaired. Overall I think this is a very good product. I would definitely purchase it again.

Worth the money to fix and restore old papers and photos almost invisibly and safely
I use this on antique books, postcards, and photos. It is wonderful and safe for your paper. It is almost invisible, but I use it on the back side of photos, if possible. I didn't get a boning tool to smooth it down right away, I would use the back of a spoon. I have a boning tool now and it is a lot easier than a spoon! I used an entire roll up and bought a new one because the quality of the tape is worth every penny. It is a tissue, not a tape really. It is much thinner than tape, doesn't show like tape, and works just as well.

Perfect for mending delicate pages
This was exactly what I was looking for to mend the delicate pages of a book and to keep the folios from separating along the spine. It's very thin and light, so you don't even notice the page has been mended unless you're looking for it. It's WAY better than Scotch tape. Just cut to the proper size, remove the backing and smooth it down and you're done. The backing is a little tricky to get off, but be patient: flip a finger back and forth on a corner to soften up the backing and it will separate from the tape enough so you can peel it. Without the backing the tape is very flimsy, so be prepared to keep it from flopping around and sticking to itself! It seems to stick tight: I didn't try to remove it, but I wouldn't count on it being removable from paper.

Reliable Product
This is a good product and works as advertised. It does not come in a box that turns into a tape dispenser as some videos show. Nevertheless, the tape works perfectly to mend book pages.

Good stuff!!
This stuff is so good for fixing torn Bible pages or using to attach more notes to your Bible! The convenience of it is the best!! Love it way better than washi tapes.

Inexpensive way to do a repair
Worked well, repaired a Bible at our Lodge Hall (over 100 years old) that we had been quoted a professional repair of $3,000 and 2 year time frame. (They wanted to do a complete restoration only) have also used on other books. Seems to hold up well.

READ TO LEARN HOW TO SEPARATE the tape BUT NOT LIKE IT USED TO BE
This product is NOT what it used to be. Hence the one star. But FIRST, let me explain HOW TO SEPARATE THE TAPE FROM THE BACKING! All you need to do is to take a small piece of Scotch tape or any other kind of tape, and press it on the EDGE of end of the piece of the Lineco tape you are going to use. The Lineco tape will come up and off the backing. If it doesn't, you are trying on the WRONG SIDE. Flip it over and do it one the other side. Trust me. This works. NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS. I have been buying this tape for years! I've bought it on Amazon 13 times since 2012. My last purchase was in July, 2024. This will be my LAST purchase. This tape used to be thin, and almost undetectable when used. The manufacturer calls it TRANSPARENT. It USED to be transparent. It no longer is. I wrote the company. The Vice President and General Manager wrote me back. He confirmed that this is NOT the product it used to be. He said that when Covid came, the paper supplier and the gum supplier both went out of business. He said that what they are producing now, (and now is 2024) is the best that they can offer. This is so sad because it was a wonderful product for transparency. Where the old product was transparent, the new product looks WHITE. Some recent reviews like the tape. They would have liked it better before Covid. If you can't get the tape to separate, please read what I said at the start of this review.

Great Value
Tape adheres well but also comes up cleanly for repositioning. One layer is easy to read through but I do not recommend additional layers for reinforcement. The box has a built in dispensing feature that works really well. Overall great value for the money.

Easy to use, once you can find & separate the tape from its backing. Very good results when applied to the back of documents. I avoided application to front or image/text side. Strong repair properties. Hope it's reversable as manufacturer suggests.

It does the job, I was hoping it was even more light weight, since I'm using it on thin bible paper, but I'm satisfied with how it turned out!

Très bon produit ! rien à redire ... Je le savais déjà avant de l'acheter ! C'est un support adhésif très utile pour la réparation de certains ouvrages en reliure. Son dimensionnement et sa facilité d'utilisation sont des atouts.
