Will these adhere to painted door?

Yes, you can use these on the painted door, but removing it will damage the paint surface.

Is there any way to remove the adhesive?

Use a hair dryer to blow the mirror tiles of the peel and stick places, which will be easier to remove. However, it can't be guaranteed to tear clean, because the adhesive is really strong.
