Household Essentials Rectangular Banana Leaf Basket Set (Set of 4), Natural Brown

I purchased these to help organize my pantry. I read all of the reviews beforehand and was a little leery about the whole "smell" thing people were talking about. However, I still went ahead & bought 2 sets. Not only did they arrive on time but, I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy they are! They did have a tiny smell but I just stuck them outside for a couple hours and seriously they're just fine! These basket are very, very well made!! Great for absolutely anything! I loved these so much I bought 2 more sets!! The sizes are accurate as well! I would recommend these to anybody for anything!!

Very nice baskets, and i love the way they nest into each other. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I find the odor a bit too pungent. I'm sure because of the grass they're made from. But the baskets are sturdy and well made.

We decided to roll the dice and try these baskets despite several reviews indicating that these baskets put off a bad odor. The set that we received did smell as well. You can smell the foul odor when taking them out of the box. We then let them sit in a room for a week to gauge our level of tolerance for the smell. However, if we did not spend time in the room and then entered the room, the smell seemed strong. The baskets are not really worthy of having to tolerate the constant odor.Regarding construction - they appeared to be well made. But, they are much more rough in appearance or even rustic than the picture indicates. If we had a thatched hut tiki bar in the backyard, these would definitely blend in, but not really nice enough in appearance for our indoor decor.We returned the baskets.

What can I say.....what a ripoff! First the smell of these baskets is toxic i could not stop coughing when i opened the package. I ordered these to place in the bathroom at my wedding and god only knows if the smell will dissipate. Second the baskets are awful to look at they have visible ends of the banana leaf on the edges that poke out. The wrapping in uneven.... need i say more. I am going to have to make some sort of material to cover the flaws if the smell subdues that is. And after buying material and my time this product is going to end up costing me more money.Terrible for the price....u know what dont take my word for it, as soon as I can I'll be placing some pics.DON'T DO IT!!One star for arriving.

It's not as light a color as I thought. They don't fit with my closet and I found another set.

I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT TO HAVE A PLACE FOR OUR KEYS,MAIL AND MAGAZINES IN OUR ROOM AND KITCHEN.THE SMALLER SIZES WERE PERFECT FOR OUR NIGHT STAND TO PUT LITTLE THINGS LIKE READING GLASSES IN IT AND I USED THE BIGGER ONES AROUND THE HOUSE TO ORGANIZE ITEMS LIKE SUNGLASSES THAT ARE LEFT ON VARIOUS SURFACES OF THE HOUSE.

Exactly as described. I ordered these to help organize my pantry. They're sturdy baskets, they look nice and seem to be great quality. I saw several other reveiws warning about a strong odor. Every banana leaf product I've ever ordered had an odor in the beginning, but if you air the items out, it wears off.

Good product, it doesn't smell bad. Maybe it smells a bit when you open the package but thats it.
