Bought one of these for an outlet on a hardwood floor. The included instruction and cutting template were helpful. You need a router to properly recess the ears of the box. Good set of gaskets included, and it looks like it’ll seal well. The covers for the outlet require a little push when opening or closing to compress the gasket, but nothing unreasonable. The brass cover is nicely made and looks good on the floor.

Overall it seems like a great quality product. It looks great after install and does the job. It was pretty easy to install in the floor too. Some modification of the floor is needed to get it deep enough in the floor. Also the actual unit with the sockets have little rings that are in the way and dont align with the holes that hold the box in place in the floor. They were easy to cut off though and everything is held nicely together with the top screws. It gets 4 stars because the lids have pretty sharp edges and not smooth rounded. This can be felt because they are not 100% flush with the base plate. Also, it's a bit hard to open (some might consider this a positive safety feature) and a tool is needed to turn the locking ring - cannot be turned by hand easily. However, the ultimate test: Would I buy again had I known what I know now: Yes, no doubt.

We had a single floor outlet and wanted two in the one position. This worked very well, however, anything that is plugged in must be narrow as some of the other reviews have stated before

I am very impressed with the heft/weight/solidness of this floor receptacle . Its top notch and a complete kit for a good price. Works as intended and I had no issue installing it. If you aren't a handy DIYer and are not comfortable cutting a hole in your floor or doing electrical work SAFELY...then play it safe and hire a contractor.
