Cantu Deep Treatment Masque with Shea Butter for Natural Hair, 12 oz

This has been my go to deep conditioner since its inception. Compared to other deep treatments and masks, it is the most economical considering the amount you get. It leaves my hair soft and well conditioned, and less prone to breakage. It has a very thick consistency, which I prefer in a deep treatment. I also like the smell. I know this brand is problematic for some, but there really are no ingredients in any of the products in the line for natural hair that would cause damage. Cantu's original line, however, contains some drying alcohols and other ingredients that are not desirable in hair care products for textured hair. I think they did themselves a disservice by keeping all the packaging the same color. They should have clearly differentiated their classic line from the natural hair line to prevent the confusion if they weren't going to discontinue them.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Was introduced to this product by i friend and I love it. I love the scent and texture and it works well with my hair. Only fault I found was that it should be a bigger jar.

This is a GREAT product! It is VERY thick, smells very nice and leaves my hair very soft and moist. I use it with a plastic cap and then wrap my hair in a scarf to create heat and it has repaired and restored my hair to a great healthy state. I will keep this product in stock - it is a must have (yes I said must have twice)

I was using a deep conditioning mask for my regular conditioner that had castor oil in it. I personally need very thick conditioner with a lot of slip. But sadly, that line got bought by someone else into the formulas are changing. So goes with many textured hair products. This is pretty frustrating. I originally found this product at a cheap grocery store and tried it. I'm not really picky about smells, but I noticed that this smell pretty good. Kind of fruity. The slip is amazing!! And it's thick so they're not watering it down... Like they're doing with my old product. This is my new go-to conditioner! Can't see enough good things about it. And I love that it's not going to break the bank!

This is the second time I've bought this protein mask. I have curly hair and it works really well for me. I recommend using conditioner after applying the mask. It's normal for protein masks to leave your hair feeling a little stiff, but that's nothing to worry about. Protein masks strengthen the hair strands.

The product is very very handy and useful. I have mostly come across heavy leave in conditioner that tend to leave a straw effect on hair. This doesn't have any such. Also after first few uses I started skipping my usual conditioner
