Good quality paracord, built-in tinder is a little hard to light, fairly priced.
The media could not be loaded. The paracord itself is of high quality and I don't doubt that it will meet MIL-SPEC, it certainly did support my own weight without any sign of giving way or fraying (180 lbs). The color is fire orange, so you are not likely to confuse it with any other paracord you may carry, or lose it if you drop the roll in the tall grass. It also has reflective flecks/stripes all the way through, so you can easily locate it at night or use it for guy lines that you will easily see with any light and not trip over. It is well thought out. However, its outstanding feature is the waterproof (waxed) cotton tinder strand which it includes as part of the 7 strand core.I cut off a 4 inch piece to see how easy it is to light and how long it would burn. I first wet it down a little by dunking it in tap water, then removed the tinder core, shook off the water, fluffed it up the small strands that make it up and proceeded to light it using a small ferro rod and my swiss army knife. I was never successful, despite repeated tries and using the proper technique of pulling away the ferro rod with the knife static, rather than the opposite. After much frustration, I ended up lighting it with a BIC lighter, and since I am only able to upload a single video with each review, it is this last successful try which you can see. After catching easily with the lighter, I must say I was surprised how long it burned. I got almost 45 seconds of flame from just a 4 inch piece. This makes it actually useful in a camping or survival situation, if you keep in mind that you will need an actual flame to light it (match/lighter, etc) rather than just sparks. The hank of cord contains 30 feet, rather than the more normal 5 feet, but costs a little more than a plain paracord 50 foot hank. This puts the price at around twice the price per length of normal paracord, but taking into account its high quality, and the built-in tinder, it seems quite worth it.I would certainly add some tinderquick or other easy catching tinder to any kit in which you include this cord, as well as a small ferro rod, as you should always have more than one way to start a fire.

Survival paracord
Combines a tinder element to the already useful paracord, be careful around flames, but that's been true for regular paracord.

Everyone needs cord
Not sure what the "tinder" aspect is all about to be honest. 20 bucks for 30' of cord seems a bit steep, you can get paracord cheaper than that but this is a bit sturdier that paracord. Overall - 100 uses for this in your typical campsite, boat, or RV.

Works
The cord is nice and functions as it is supposed to but it is pricey for what it is. You get 3 - 30ft. packs for about $20 (time of writing) the cord has a waxed core for fire starting and reflective points on the outer design. It does say it's 550 but does not list a weight/load limit.550 cord is supposed to be rated for 550 pounds of static weight and 110 pounds of working weight. Now I'm not sure on this as it says on the packaging to not use it for climbing, overhead lifting, and load carrying. So while this may be 550 by diameter, it may not be by strength, which is perfectly fine. This is more or less for emergency camping/hiking use, not everyday cord use. I did try it to start a fire and it worked well, nothing to complain about. So while it works, it wouldn't be my first choice to start a fire but being a multi use item, it's well worth having in the backpack.

Reflective paracord with flammable wax core for fire starting emergencies.
I’ve had lots of paracord, usually there is a specific weight rating. This cord does not list a specific weight rating but seems durable and strong for lashing and emergency use.I really like the reflective cover. It’ll help to see this at night so no one trips over a guy wire, etc.I may be using some of this inside a tent to create a clothesline, for hanging towels, clothes, etc. to keep things organized and tidy.I’ll be testing the wax core as tinder for a fire I’ll have this weekend when I go camping at the lake.I’m glad I found this. It seems like a decent quality rope and having three hanks of it saves me some time and makes it more useful to me. All of the ends have been heat-sealed to prevent unraveling.Recommended and would buy it again.4 STARS!

A little expensive, but useful for kit-making
I love paracord. I use it every time I go camping, when I'm constructing things (like shelters, tools) in the outdoors, and for things around the house. This 550 tinder cord is particularly useful for survival kits and the like, since it does double duty as tinder which will catch a thrown spark from a striker. It takes a little preparation, and it's definitely good to have a knife on hand to open up and trim the cord - but I'm guessing you have a knife on hand as well. 30' isn't terribly long, I prefer having 100' in an actual pack, but this is for a small kit, something you could put in a pocket or belt pack, or slip into your larger pack. For that, it's just about the right length for optimal size-to-utility ratio.

Great to have for your survival kits or backpacking gear
My 12 y.o. daughter is really into survival skills and gear. We've been slowly adding pieces to our collection so we can go on a camping/backpacking/survival adventure. We were building a fire in our firepit a few months ago, after she had just got back from "Survivor Camp" and she wanted to show off her fire making skills that she learned. She had wanted to use her flint fire starter thing, but was upset that she didn't have whatever "char cloth" they had used at camp. Couple that with an impatient uncle and the whole thing turned out to be a bust with tears and sour feelings, so when I saw this a few weeks later I thought it would be worth another try. We finally tried again a few nights ago with this (and without the impatient uncle) and it took a few tries but she eventually got a roaring fire going! We now each have a pack of it in our individual gear, and one step closer to being able to do our survival adventure!

Good cord with dual purpose.
Nice paracord with a bright orange coloring for high visibility. It held knots well and you couldn't really tell it was anything different then normal paracord. Inside you will find the firestarter string which is waxed cotton. This light easily and and stayed burning for a decent amount of time. Good string to keep with your camping/survival gear.
