This cell phone holder works better than I expected. Delivery was prompt. Stability is good. I wish it was longer so it would reach closer to the dash so I would not have to look down at it. I have to reach behind it to operate the heater/AC. You have to fiddle with it to get it pushed all the way into the cigarette lighter. Make sure the red light is on. Using the phone GPS uses a lot of battery, if not plugged in all the way the phone will be dead soon. I could not decide between this and the Slip to Grip holder that sticks to the dash, so I got both to compare. You can see my review for the Slip to Grip also. Basically, I prefer this one only because the phone screen cannot be seen on the dash in sunshine. UPDATE: This worked well for 3 or 4 months, with frequent moving it from one car to another. Then the part that inserts into the cig lighter and charges the phone broke, so though it still holds the phone well, it no longer charges it. I think it was because I moved it so many times. I really like it, so I plan to get another one and leave it plugged in I think it will last longer that way.

I recently bought a new IPhone 8+ , I spend a great deal of time in my car with my job so a good phone holder/charger are of utmost importance to me.The two most important things on my screen are the music and the GPS. I have to be able to see the map . With my 5 year old Hyundai Elantra , the seat, and the dash setup are kind of like a cockpit. Sometimes it’s a bit weird to be able to see the screen on your phone from just a vent mount holder.Which is what I had previously. The 8+ was too large and heavy for that . So here I decided to try this set up.So far, I’m pretty happy with it. I can adjust it exactly where I need it. It hold the weight of the phone just fine.The only downsides have been that I had to buy a 6” lightning cable since the longer ones were too messy with excessive looping.The plugin to the 12 volt inlet occasionally gets a little loose, but I think it’s mostly from me connecting and disconnecting the phone.Otherwise, I recommend this holder to anyone with a heavy phone!

Bought this because the sat-nav in my car died on me. So, I thought I'd give a hold for my iPhone a try. Looked on amazon for just the right one. And, obviously, went with this model that plugs into your cars cigarette lighter. I had my doubts about this item when I first ordered it. I figured that it would either just flop around and never stay up properly. Or, that my iPhone 7 wouldn't recognize the USB ports - as is sometime the case with the whole apple iPhone proprietary thing. Whelp, to my surprise the holder mounted solidly into my cigarette lighter input and the USB ports were actually recognized by my iPhone. It fits in my 2012 Ford Escape pretty darn well. It does get in the way of the buttons that work the AC in my car. However, other than that there really are no issues with this phone holder. I took it with me on vacation a few weeks ago and it fit perfectly on the Jeep that we had rented. All in all I am very happy with my purchase.Just one thing: there is a video review of this item on the Amazon listing page where the reviewer mentioned the need to remove a rubber washer-like item at the very end of the part that goes into your cigarette lighter. Whatever you do DO NOT remove this rubber washer. This piece of rubber is needed to firmly lock this holder into your cigarette lighter. If you remove the washer the thing will just flop around and not stay hooked into yout lighter outlet.Again, Very happy with this item.

I have an older car, no cup holder or console, so this solved my problem.

I ordered this cell phone holder for my husband for our RV and we honestly love it - it stands up really well, doesn't fall to the side, etc that I saw in other reviews. It has dual usb plugs and holds different size phones with no problems. Other reviews also said "cheap plastic" breaks easily but I don't feel that's the case - we went down very bumpy dirt roads with our camper and had no issues. BUT one month and 2 days later the holder (the actual part that holds the phone in place) broke and will no longer close tightly and the cell phone falls out. It's a shame because I really like this product, I'm going to contact the seller see if they'll replace it. Giving it a 4 star because honestly if it wasn't for the part that broke, I'd give it a 5 with no qualms.

The design is pretty good but for vehicles that have cigarette lighters on the right side of the dash, it is hard to get it to angle back towards the driver seat all the way.Also, because of its design, it shakes a bit while driving and when you are trying to type on it while in the cradle.

Good product but hard to put together but all around good for the price
