Think about what you want it for before buying it.
I'm going to try to appropriately rate this on two levels. One is as a father that knew he was buying a kids guitar for a three year old, and the other is as someone who owns and plays guitar. If you just want the short ugly version though, its this, Good if you want something that looks like a guitar and makes noise, but Bad if you want something that can be used as a beginner guitar. As a father of a three year old:1. The good - it has a Stratocaster look similar to my actual MIM Stratocaster which makes my son happy because he can now grab his guitar and play it while I'm playing mine. If you want something that has a guitar look and makes noise this guitar isn't a terrible choice.2. The bad - it isn't something you can just pick up and have your child use (there is some stuff that needs to be done when you first get it), and if your child actually wants to learn to play guitar this isn't a great guitar to use, also it has a pretty hefty weight to it so if your child is under 5 they might have difficulty holding it with the strap on. My son does ok as long as he is sitting with it in his lap, but he can't tolerate it very long if he is standing with it supported by the strap3. The ugly - the sound is pretty bad even when its in tune. it has a very crunchy sound that just doesn't sound close enough to a real guitar to fool even a child. The fret board feels like unfinished wood and isn't very comfortable on my callous fingers so I can only imagine how bad it feels to a young child's sensitive skin.As someone who owns and plays guitars:1. The good - if you are willing to replace some parts it's a good body to build into a fair guitar for a child to start with, but you have some work to do...2. The bad - the bridge needed some serious adjustments to get anything close to in tune sound to come out, and even after spending serious time working with the bridge the intonation is still only fair and best and the strings still have a unpleasant buzz to them; the nut needs to be grooved better to hold the strings as several tend to pop out of place with little effort; the strings the guitar comes with are pretty bad and I replaced them immediately; the volume knob doesn't put any volume out through the speaker unless its turned up to the max position; I mentioned this above as well, but its worth repeating, this is NOT a good guitar to learn on. A beginning player will hear a lot of the horrible sound this thing puts out and think they are doing something wrong when its really just the instrument.3. The ugly - in short this guitar just sounds horrible. I haven't figured out yet if its the single coil pickup or the speaker itself that makes this thing sound so bad, but one of the two really does make this guitar sound really really bad to play. The sound comes out in a distorted crunchy way that not even a punk/metal guitarist with a bad ear could think was good. Its just a really really bad sounding guitar, add that to the unfinished feel of the neck/fret board, the loose tuning heads, the cheap feeling bridge, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for a actual playable guitar (even for a beginner).

Christmas gift
Bought this for my 6 yr old grandson. doesn't tune very well or stay tuned for that matter. Its ok for a beginners model but, could have gotten him a much better quality guitar like a Fender Squire for the same price in great condition at a pawn store! Of course you would need a cheap, yet small amp to go with it. Another $20-$30.
