Direct fit, no problems... Old gas shocks where bouncy and visually leaking... You could see the fluid stains leaking down the side of the shock... When old shocks were removed, they didn't even pump back up on their own... They remained compressed and did not return to height... Apparently, I was riding on the springs alone, because these shocks were doing absolutely nothing... After installing the new ones, the difference is night and day... Has shock with spring support... The rear doesn't sag down at all with the trailer attached... Very very very happy... Put them on the back of my 2007 Escalade (they do fit, even though Amazon says they dont). Rides just as good as the factory "air" suspension did, but a lot cheaper and simpler. I also have them paired with a 4-inch drop spring and shock lowering bracket (to make sure the shocks dont bottom out with the lowered springs).
