Perfect fit and installed in minutes

Perfect replacement for my dog door. Flap has added support ridge at top for secure integration. Size and screw holes perfect alignment. Only difference from OEM is flap is not clear. It is opaque. Took dogs a few encouraging trips to use. All good.

Fit perfectly, 4 screws out, 4 screws in. Took 5 minutes, seals just fine.

It actually IS the best pet flap replacement. I compared it with another after-market flap, and this one was more true to size for my dog door (both long enough to not let in wind, and wide enough to catch on the fuzzy weatherstripping on the sides). Plus, the screw holes were carefully placed, unlike the other brand, so it was much easier to install. The metal plate at the bottom catches the magnet, and I like that it is opaque. It's a good weight and flexibility, similar to the original flap, and my dog went through it no problem (although I'm sure he wondered where all the dirty smears from his old one went...). I hope that it lasts as long as my last one did (17 years with numerous big dogs!).

Had tried a couple other products but just like some reviews stated, they would be either a 1/4" too short, or also 1/8" too wide. Cheapest price for the original flap is $41+tax, sent to your Home Depot -- which is where I bought the Ideal Pet Ruff Weather Large Door (RWXL) originally 10 years ago. OE flaps were warping, covered in dog-snoot slime and letting in the wind/snow. These Best Pet Flaps do fit perfectly, rivets and top holes are perfect, and they fit even just a bit more snug to the felt down the edges than the originals (maybe 1mm), which is nice as the felt has frayed a bit. You can see these are not transparent but are pretty transluscent, but our closet inside is not much darker really. Happen to like this as someone can no longer look through the door. All in all, will save you $20 from OE.

I really liked these replacement flaps because they were easy to install and worked with the door that we have but the outdoor flap tore off the base today. We have had these installed on the doggy door for about a year (11 months), so I am disappointed in the durability. There's not a lot of reinforcement at the top or on the sides so it literally tore off.

There are hundreds of sizes and types of attachment. It can be a struggle to get the exact fit. Some slide in and some bolt on. Ensure you get the right one for your door. They last years unless you get a large puppy who occupies his time chewing on the door flap . lol
