no instructions were sent with the sealer - having used such a product before i knew to heat cure before having a hot fire. you may like to attach instructions to the tube

This seems to be the recommendation of most direct fireplace manufacturers. It is messy and you will probably use more than you expect. There is not much documentation on how much of this to use, I used a fat bead with Duravent Pro ducting. Clean up with mineral spirits.

The sealant stopped leaks where it was applied.

I use for seal on wood pellet stove combustion blowers motor flange to housing. For easy removal for next service. 34 years of experience Much better and value than fiber gaskets that need to be replaced.
