A Must-Have for Any Soprano
Although not all of the arias in this edition (or any edition for that matter) will fit one particular fach, the range and selection of pieces is really wonderful in this volume. I prefer it to the first volume, only because it has a few lesser known gems that are great audition pieces, whereas the first volume covers mostly pieces everyone has heard a million times before (though there are some of those in this volume too!).Over all, well edited, wonderful translations and very easy to read.

Great for music students
Perfect for music students on a budget. The price was much better than at college bookstore. It’s an essential addition to music library. Arrived quickly and in new condition, as expected.

Wonderful
These anthologies are just beyond wonderful. They have a brilliant selection of songs and the piano part is easy to follow if you wish to play and sing at the same time. The translations in the front of the book are clear, and while not underneath the other text in the actual songs, is easily written in if so desired.

A Must-Have for any Soprano - Love it!
Love the selection of arias. Great Editing by an opera conductor who has heard thousands upon thousands of auditions, and who has found these particular pieces to be the Soprano's best friends. As usual with G. Schirmer, a super-useful singing tool, provided by people who know music well.

Arias for Soprano, Volume 2
If you own volume 1... then you need volume 2. As a soprano, I find this book the be very important. I would double-check this performance score with other scholarly editions or even facsimiles. Sometimes the editors add their own markings that aren't in the composers original score. Example: Marietta's lied. Nonetheless-- buy this book. :)

So I figured volume two would be good, too
I have worn my volume one book out! So I figured volume two would be good, too. A must-have for sopranos, and it provides a wide variety as far as what type of soprano you are.

Good edition
As advertised. Useful for a lot of soprano arias but you probably will want to buy the other volume as well.

excellent purchase
A must have book for studying classical voice, nice selections of operatic arias for the advanced student and voice teachers library. At the beginning of the book .each aria has brief notes with the act, character and scene it is from plus the english translation of the entire aria. There are 31 arias in this book from 23 operas. The only 2 drawbacks are the diction coach cd is in a seperate book which has to be purchased seperately, and it would help if it was coil bound for the sake of the pianist.

Sempre libertaLa Wally: Ebben?... Ne andro lontanaWerther: Frere! voyez!... Du gais soleilAs in the first volume there's something for every voice type included in here including some arias that are more difficult to find as well as some very well known gems.I bought this book as I'd been looking for one specific aria for a long time and finally found it included in this book: when I received it, I also found lots of other really useful additions to my repertoire so was even more happy that I bought it.There is of course also repertoire here that isn't appropriate for my voice at this time but, as voices change, it well come in handy at some future point..It's also a great book to get if you're looking for new audition arias but aren't sure what would suit you.I can also see this book being absolutely invaluable as a teaching tool just for the reason that it includes such a variety of repertoire: much less to carry!
