Tondiamo 9 Pcs Pen Making Kit Turning Mandrel and Barrel Trimming Set

The jam nut that holds the rod straight is so poorly machined that the rod has some wiggle in it that makes it impossible to turn a pen of any quality. I won't buy another one of the same brand.

It exceeded what it's supposed to do this is great for when you're turning pens or anything that you need a mandrel for very well constructed materials are great I recommend to anyone that uses one

I've made quite a few slimline pens with this. The length can be adjusted to work on one or two tubes at the same time. Be careful with the trimming bits...do it wrong like I did on one, it will tear up a brass tube.

This kit comes with enough stuff that I won’t be returning it…BUT. My biggest gripe here is the rod for the bushings and blanks to sit on is bent, not a lot, but it’s bent. The final product ends up wonky due to this. The mill worked fine for me, as did the rest of the equipment. I wish the road was straight as I’ll need to go buy a new one. Still though, for all that you get, worth the money I think.

The mandrel wasn't that bad of quality but the bushing and pen mill are basically worthless. Pen mill would not even fully trim one end of one brass insert, no cutting edge at all. Would not recommend.

Could have ordered the same quality from Rockler or Woodcraft for substantially more money. Quality tool, and built to last. This is not a toy, but a real tool.

Mandrel was bent upon arrival which I didn't notice until after the return period. In trying to use it, the metal rod slides it of the headstock so you can never get your blanks tight enough. I have not been able to make a single successful pen with this mandrel.
