These anthologies are just beyond wonderful. They have a brilliant selection of songs and the piano part is easy to follow if you wish to play and sing at the same time. The translations in the front of the book are clear, and while not underneath the other text in the actual songs, is easily written in if so desired.I personally am a mezzo-soprano and use this book all the time. It has enough songs to keep my repertoire varied and this book includes some interesting songs from musicals I hadn't previously heard of.

Music Teachers know the value of good music, and great repertoire for singers more specifically. The trouble is there are so few singers that want to sing opera. The arias in this collection are great; nothing new, but great! Perhaps we can reintroduce arias to students and allow these melodies to stay alive. There is something for all mezzo sopranos here in this anthology. Even sopranos sing a lot of these mezzo-soprano selections!!! Great works! Check them out for yourself!

This is a good edition of arias for mezzo. I use it quite often.

This book definitely has all the commonly sung arias for mezzos such as "When I Am Laid In Earth"(Dido's Lament) from Purcell's opera Dido & Aeneas,"Che Faro Senza Euridice?" from Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice,"Voi Che Sapete", and "Non so piu cosa son" from Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, "Una voce poco fa" from Rossini's Barber of Seville & more! I agree with the above posts! A must have for all mezzos!

Probably one of my favorite anthologies ever. I sing out of t almost every day. Love it! And it's a must have for any mezzo.

My child uses this book for vocal lessons. She likes the songs. The notes are easy to read and the layout is nice.

Excellent music book- contains a wide variety of standard operatic repertoire for mezzo-sopranos. As a singing teacher, this is the book I use most for mezzo repertoire- in fact all of the Schirmer books in this collection are my most-used music books for myself as well as for my students. I generally like the piano reduction and the cuts made in the arias- it makes them easy to use for auditions and solo singing. I would highly recommend this book, and all of the books in this collection for singers and teachers.
