Q: Is this a new model? What are the differences between this and the model on amazon that is ~$50?

The ST1048 is our 2nd generation foam cartridge sensor pump whereas the ST1057 is the 3rd generation which features improved software, durability, and includes a lavender cartridge and the refillable cartridge in the packaging.

Q: What is the difference between the item model numbers st1048 vs st1057 to justify the increase in price?

(07:20:34 PM) Kenny: Currently, I can get the ST104x with a one-time-use soap cartridge on Amazon for $50, or I can buy the ST105x with a refillable soap cartridgeon your website for $80. (07:21:00 PM) Chris: Yes, that's correct. (07:21:05 PM) Kenny: Aside from the cartridge, I can't find any different between the ST104x and the ST105x. What other improvements have been made in the new release to convince me to spend an extra $30 on it? (07:22:28 PM) Chris: The ST105x model is slightly improved internally but is not a significantly different from the ST104x models. Q: Why is it so impossible to get this thing to work without the straw falling in?

Not sure. I haven’t experienced that problem.

Q: Can't I buy this without their soap? I have my own preferred brands and don't want to waste money on one of theirs.

Newer items I purchased from Simple Human came with empty cartridge to fill soap of choice.
