Cedar Shoe Tree, Shoe Trees for Men & Women - Shaper & Stretcher

This is my first pair of shoe trees. I have a pair of US Men's size 7.5D Allen Edmonds Park Avenue Dress Boots. These size "Small" trees fit perfectly, and might fit a size 8 Allen Edmonds shoe as well. The spring is pretty well compressed in my 7.5, so fitting anything smaller than a 7.5 Allen Edmonds may be difficult. Allen Edmonds sizes their shoes more accurately than others, I wear a size 9 sneaker in most brands, but 7.5 in AE. Other dress shoes might be sized more like sneakers, YMMV. I would describe the construction of these as "as expected." The cedar is nicely shaped and the surface is smooth. The spring seems adequate for the task and they smell great. If these ever wear out, I will most likely buy another Houndsbay set because I'll know what size to get and the quality seems good.

Smells wonderful, very smooth surface so it slips easily into shoe or boot. I haven't had them long enough to tell if they will prevent creases from happening but I suspect it will make the shoe/boot look less shoddy over time.

Wonderful product. Easy to use and relaxed my shoes. May need something to widen the shoe but this product did what it said it would.

I have 2 pair of these and they are great for the price, however they do run a bit small. I have them in a pair of Truman's in 11.5D and its a perfect fit. Tight enough on the toe to flatten out the creases. Tight on the heel but not too tight. I also have a pair of Thursday Heritage Captains in 11.5D. These boots have a slightly wider toe box than my Truman's and while these help a little bit, they are not tight enough on the sides for that boot. Since I purchased the 11.5-13 size, you would expect them to be a pretty tight fit. I think if your sizing is E or EE or something like that, these are not going to be a good fit for your boots. Im also hesitant to believe these would fit a 13D like they say they are for, although I dont have personal experience with that size. Still, I would size up.

I bought these after traveling frequently with my dress shoes. Every trip seemed to leave them a little more wrinkled and misshapen after being packed in a suitcase, so I finally decided to give these shoe trees a try. I honestly wish I had done it sooner. The cedar smell was fantastic when I first opened the box. The scent has mellowed over time, but it still leaves my shoes smelling fresh(er) after each use. More importantly, they’ve made a huge difference in how my shoes hold their shape. No more crushed toes or extra creasing after traveling. My leather shoes come out looking noticeably better than they did before I started using these. The sizing recommendation was spot on. They fit securely without feeling like they’re stretching the leather or putting excessive pressure on the shoe. I don’t have other shoe trees to compare them against, but the construction feels solid and well made. My only real complaint is the price. They’re expensive enough that I can’t justify buying a pair for every shoe I own. If they go on sale, I’ll definitely be picking up more. I think these are well worth the investment.

Great. Did a good job

I like the shape and feel of the shoe trees. Unfortunately, the one for the left foot broke at the upper heel ridge when I pressed it in place (did not force it). Upon examination it was easy to see there is a flaw in the wood grain that contributed to the breakage. Instead of returning the item, I just applied some wood glue and mended it. Update: I was contacted by Houndsbay and offered a full refund for the issue with the left shoe tree. That is great customer service right there. I declined as the fix was easy to do and have had no further issues with the left one.
