Recipe temperature said 350. I heated the oil on medium high and when the thermometer got to about 330 I dropped a test shrimp in. It cooked perfectly at that temp so I put 6 at a time and was able to keep the temperature consistent throughout the cooking process. It took about 4 to 5 minutes to get to GBD. When I finished the 24 shrimp I fried 14 chicken tenders that we breaded using the same dredge and they came out perfect. The whole frying process took about 35 minutes because we had everything ready to go beforehand. I’m very happy with this fry pot and my only concern is that it is made from a little bit flimsy material. If you accidentally dropped the pot or lid I think it would bend out of shape. The bottom of the pot is very good and conducts heat great.
