The face mask doesn't show any change on the face. The water polish just beads up a light pink color on the nails but the doll nails don't actually change.

This doll is adorable. It comes wearing a cute flamingo towel wrap. When you take the wrap off, she has a blue bathing suit on that is molded to the plastic body. That bathing suit could be panties and a camisole, but it doesn't really matter.The face mask needs to be soaked in ICE COLD water to have any impact. Once applied and removed, the purple eye shadow is revealed. The nail polish only works if the water in the bottle is, again, ICE COLD. The doll's fingers and toes turn a pretty pink color. The color change effects only last a few moments before turning back. That is a bummer in one aspect, but in the other it keeps my six-year-old entertained consistently painting her little heart out.This is not retail packaging with a plastic window displaying the doll. I was disappointed with Amazon on shipping here. It was delivered in the retail box, with a giant and unremovable sticker right over the front of the box. If my intention was gifting this item, I would have been terribly angry. As it is, this was for my daughter, and she didn't seem to care. If you are ordering this for a gift, make sure to have it put into an Amazon box and don't risk a big sticker ruining your gift.
