Great and useful tool
This tool is well-made and worked quite well for my 2003 Volkswagen AWP 1.8t motor. It made my valve stem job easier than if I had tried to fabricate my own tool. (I did the job with the cylinder head removed from the vehicle.) It still requires elbow grease and endurance to get the job done.

It works well
Setup and use was a snap 20 valve springs were done in 15 minutes. Only draw back is the plastic handle slides off and it could be a little larger for comfort.

Made my spring install a breeze
I ordered ti go ahead and change my valve springs on my 2jz while still in the car a breeze, I had ordered a Toyo tool style at first and was not able to use it to install my new bc dual springs. But this tool made it easy with a friends help to hold it down while I did the keepers

Don't use the bolts included.
The valve spring compressor works pretty decent as opposed to the $600 alternative. I got the job done. Other reviews mentioned the handle slipping which I did notice, but that is an easy fix with some electrical tape. The only warning is that the bolts included are very cheap and pourus cast metal. I'm not even sure if they are steel. The good thing about it is that it made the one that broke off easy to drill out. Using proper machine bolts is an absolute must.

versatile tool for on or off vehicle repairs. So easy to use.
Can use brackets which holds long rod on one side of heads only if needed. bolt down securely. If using in car, cover all holes in head down into engine, to keep keepers from falling in. Take time to set up so pusher is exactly straight up and down over valve being worked. Use a suitable piece of pipe on handle about 18 inches long for extra leverage. To make reinstallation of valve extremely simple assemble valve in head put on spring and retainer cap on top. put in keepers and place piece of plastic like food storage bag on top of assembly to hold keepers in place while pushing the assembly down. Valve stem pushes up thru plastic which holds the keepers in place works every time. Presto! easier than disassembly.

Works on a 2013 N18 Mini Cooper Engine with Variable Valve Camshaft Removed
It will allow you to install valve keepers by yourself as long as you're careful. It would be easier to use if the lever was attached to the overhead rail so that it does not slip while you're working.
