This lamp is solidly built and looks great.The first thing you will notice when removing it from the box is just how heavy it really is. The cast base accounts for at least half of that weight, with the glass shades accounting for another 3rd or so.Getting it out of the box, as others have mentioned will be messy because of the styrofoam. Mine showed up very tightly packed with no damage except for a small chip in the reading shade where it attaches to the lamp arm, but that is completely hidden with it installed. Another striking factor is that the main stand is not flimsy. It is larger diameter aluminum and finely threaded, which aids in the stability of the lamp, but care must be taken when assembling it!TAKE YOUR TIME and MATCH UP THE THREADS!That is not a difficult thing to do, but if you are careless and force them together, you will damage the tubes!The floor switch is a nice extra, but both lamps are controllable on the lamp itself and the switches work solidly and reliably.The reading arm, while stiff, is relatively easy to adjust to exactly the right position and will not shift from on it's own.For anybody that has ever purchased a lamp at half this price, you will understand why this lamp is a bit more expensive. It is well worth the extra cost!

Floor Lamp is very well made. Both quality materials and construction. Packed very well and arrived perfect condition.

Very nice lamp in design and aesthetics, but the top lamp switch was faulty. I still haven't gotten it to work. I use the reading lamp mostly anyway and it works fine, so I decided to keep it. The packaging is of poor quality. The outer cardboard box is flimsy and tore easily. I'm surprised it made it through shipping. The styrofoam on the inside is also flimsy and just scatters everywehre. I had to open the box outside becasue of all of the styrofoam going everywhere. I suggest you do the same thing. The lampshades are of good quality and aesthetically pleasing. Both the large and small lamp shades are fairly heavy and should last. The lamp stand went together quite easily although the instructions are written and have no diagrams.of any use. Just make sure you screw in the lamp post segments without forcing them. Otherwise you will get a bent post and stripped threads. Other than the lamp switch being faulty, I am very pleased with this pruchase.

Typical cheap Chinese packaging. As one other reviewer mentioned: unpack this OUTSIDE or you will be chasing very small pieces of styrofoam all over your house for days! I like the lamp because of its size, not a typical skinny pole with a lamp on top, the downside is that the base is very heavy. I found it easy to assemble, there was plenty of loose wire inside the pole to allow for screwing the pole sections together. I was alarmed when I saw the electric tape wrapped around the wire connections (see photos). However, when I unwrapped some of the tape I verified that the wires were connected with a solid crimp fitting. I guess the tape was an extra layer of protection; although whoever installed the tape did a crap job. I also noticed that there is a 3rd switch on the lamp that is located on a black box installed on the power wire between the power plug and the lamp base (see photo). Not sure what its function is except as some kind of a splitter that takes the single wire in and splits it to 2 wires out (one for each lamp). Not sure why the warning is on the box that says "Tungsten (incandescent or halogen) load only". I installed 2 LED lamps: a 4.5W in the reading lamp and a 10.5W in the top lamp. Works great, looks great too.

I looked at thousands of lamps on line and many more in stores before I saw this one. This is what exactly what I was looking for. It matches the room where it’s going perfectly and I couldn’t be happier. There was a small mark on one of the tubes. I cannot honestly say if it e when it arrived or if the tubes clanged together when taking them out of the packaging. Being held together by the power cord it was almost impossible for them not to clang together when removing them from the packaging unless you had a 3rd or 4th hand.As for the packaging, I saw all the other warnings before buying this lamp. As careful as I tried to be, it was a complete nightmare removing everything from the box. The more careful I tried to be, the more styrofoam went all over the place. Then it got in every crevasse of the lamp and either had to be blown out or took an effort to get out since it was like static cling and stuck to it. I know the packaging is made for transit and the lamps protection, but I never saw such a mess in my life.Now that it’s all set up, I love this lamp. It gives the perfect lighting I was looking for, and looks great. I could not be happier.

This lamp is lovely. It gives off a lot of light with the two lights fixtures on it. The lamp is heavy and likely a bit large for the place I purchased it for; but, I don't see the grandkids knocking it down as it has a heavy, firm base and I have it close to the wall. I would easily get this brand of light again as it is sturdy and appears to be well made. Thank you to the makers of this lamp. It is refreshing to get a product that appears to be something that will last many years.

I purchased this lamp in December 2021. It was a bear to assemble, there was a sea of styrofoam to clean up afterward, but I liked how solid it was and it's classy looks. It's served me well, until this week. The main torchiere stopped working. I tried several different bulbs, and I made sure they were functioning bulbs in other sockets, including in the second socket for the reading lamp of this floor lamp. The lamp has been in the same place all this time, with nothing to disturb it or the wiring, so this baffles me. I guess I will disassemble and try to figure out the innerworkings, but this just does not seem right, for a lamp that has only been used for a year and a few months now. Even though I like the looks and it gives the impression of being sturdy, I can't rate this item highly. I will likely replace it with something else.
