It starts to work within minutes.
I have used this Nitromors paint remover many times and it is great stuff for stripping paint/varnish off. Timing is everything. Don't let it dry in, try to start scraping the old paint off when it has 'bubbled' sufficiently. I recently used it to finish off stripping paint from a staircase handrail. Just be careful. If it gets on your skin it can be a wee bit nippy!😲 Excellent stuff though.

Useless on old paint on metal.
Absolutely useless on old paint on metal. Nothing like old paint stripper used to be, no doubt so dumbed down by safety regs.

Worked ok
Used to get layers of paint off of door hinges that previous tenant had painted over for years, so I couldn't get to the screws to get the door off. Had to do it a few times to get to the screws but got there eventually. I remember using this stuff years ago to strip a whole staircase, and it was noxious as hell, but got the job done super fast. It is clearly not as strong and deadly as it used to be but it worked.
