Well-made seat with tail light, but attachment problems
The DAWAY seat is designed for persons who prefer to ride their bike while sitting almost vertically. With its thick foam and strong springs it provides excellent support and smooths out many bumps. The seat comes with a builti n tail light which works well at night but is on the weak side for a daytime running light. The major disadvantage of the light is that the CR2032 battery must periodically be replaced. Since the battery compartment is on the underside of the seat this is a somewhat inconvenient task, best performed if you first remove the seat/seatpost assembly from the seat tube. Also, if you are in the habit of lifting your bike by the seat you will find it easy to accidentally activate the tail light. I suspect that many users of what is otherwise an excellent seat will give up on the light because of the inconvenience. The strong reviews suggest to me that in most cases there are no quality control issues. My seat, like all of them, is made with parallel rails which permit the seat to be attached to the usual seatpost with a clamp on top. It also comes with a rail clamp so the seat can be used with tubular seatposts that lack a clamp. Unfortunately, with the seat I received the rail clamp could not be removed from the rails; it was frozen to them. It was thus no use to me and I had to return it.

Reliability Issues but Beijing Manufacturer Working with Me
Latest Update 12/19/2017: Received replacement seat light assembly today and it works fine. Will give it a trial on bike to see how reliable it proves to be. Reliability heretofore has been a serious problem even though customer service pretty good. Will update this update in a month or two. Note: This review is being replaced with a less positive one (soon). Once the new review replaces this one, the star rating will go down significantly due to reliability issues. Please stay tuned! Feels like a winner! After a fairly complicated hardware change out necessitated by a too small mounting clamp supplied with seat that does not fit my hybrid bike's seat post (and no new post provided), I had to use hardware from my previous seat, but that’s okay so long as comfort and durability prove positive over time. So far have only taken bike for short spins with new seat and think I'm going to love this seat for my daily trail cycles of just under ten miles. The design has the features I have been looking for - shorter seat length, sensible design for a man, and a cushiony comfortable cushion that doesn't have me standing on the pedals every minute or two. Love the rear lights built in and the seat cover are nice touches for protection. Update 9/3/2017: Previous update deleted and star rating changed to five stars because, although the lights did go flaky, the supplier handled the situation with excellent customer service. They could have shipped only the defective light assembly but instead sent me the entire seat with light assembly, and extra battery, and a decent wrench for working with the seat's fastening hardware for clamping to the bike's stem plus they did not require me to return the old one. Very pleased! Update 10/6/2017: Seat holding up very well including lights. Have stopped using padded shorts because no longer needed for my eight mile bike rides because I experience no discomfort with this seat. I still give this product five stars and recommend it for comfort bikes like mine.

A big step up from the seat included with my cheapy cruiser bike
I've been teaching myself to ride a bike as an adult. As a kid, I had my dad's old bike from when he was young, a single-speed back-pedal-to-brake bike from the 50's. Due to my extreme lack of experience, I went with a bike that fit those same standards, but manufactured within this century. Lately, I've been riding 3-4 miles a day, with longer trips of up to 12 miles (over the course of a couple of hours) and there have been two big things that generally cut the rides short: hills, and seat comfort. When I first installed this seat I had to use my own tools to really tighten it down, as I couldn't get it tight enough with the included wrench. That's fine, I had a 14mm socket that worked perfectly. I then sat on it, expecting a world of difference and--it felt exactly the same. I was disappointed, but it was fairly inexpensive and included the light, which is great for my rides around sunset. That day, I took a 4 mile round-trip to the grocery store, which usually leaves me sore. At the end of the trip, I wasn't sore, so I rode another 2 miles around my neighborhood. After unloading groceries I rode another 2 miles, and today I'm not sore at all! Initial impressions be damned, this has solved one of my big hold-ups with riding more. Now I just either need to learn to stand while biking or get a geared bike for all the hills in my area!

It's comfortable and the light is a good safety feature in the back.

Screws strip out of seat
Don't lift your bike by the back of the seat. springs are screwed in and screws will strip right out of the seat. They are very comfortable sad about the screws. Had to put tooth pick in holed and recrew. hopefully it will hold.

Great Tailbone Split
This seat is quite comfortable and definitely relieves any pressure in soft tissue areas with the split. It looks and feels to be good quality construction. It wasn't wide enough for my liking though, so I returned it. I would love it if available in 10" or 11" width as well. I've yet to see a refund though. I received a refund for my cost to ship it back, but not for what I originally paid for the seat.
