A wood stove is my only viable source of heat, and these work quickly and efficiently to start fires. Good product.

These are longer than Duraflame's brand, so they could be cut into thirds and still work. I will cut them in half since I use them to light real wood fires and it works better on each end instead of one long piece. If you use these to light fake logs or kindling you would only need 1/3 of a stick. Value is best on Amazon, 2 dollars a pound and they're a good variety of sizes, all around 1/2 an inch to 3/4 an inch on average. They light extremely easily and burn for a good 5 minutes per inch. Great for lighting a wood bbq for burgers or steaks, since Pine Resin is non toxic, at least compared to briquettes and lighter fluid.

Decent lighter for a reasonable price in a size that works well to start fires. Those who have used pine lighter wood from old growth long leaf pine stumps, will need to adjust expectations. This wood does not have nearly the level of resin built up as old growth lighter wood. Overall the the wood starts and burns well, but the same could be said for dried yellow heart pine wood with a lot of resin. The box is convenient and the wood is drier in appearance than one generally sees if harvesting locally, but over time all will fade and the resin will be less effective. How to know if you have a good product. Starts Easy and will have a creosote/black smoke immediately. Lighter wood with heavy amounts of resin will also make a sound as the resin burns off. Overall the product is a good product and packaged weight was as stated.

These fire starters work like a charm. They quickly ignite and get the fire going in my wood stove. After reading reviews later, I ordered a 10 lb. box. My 10-lb. Box weighed 12 pounds. I'm happy!
