Simple, Reliable, and Very Handy — Great Safety Tool
I’ve been using this Neoteck non-contact voltage tester for basic electrical checks around the house, and it’s been very reliable. The non-contact design makes it easy and safe to use — just bring the tip near an outlet or wire, and it quickly indicates if there’s live voltage. The buzzer and light alert are clear and easy to notice, even in brighter environments. The built-in LED flashlight is a nice bonus, especially when working in dim areas like behind appliances or inside panels. It’s also very straightforward to use — no complicated setup, just turn it on and go. The sensitivity range (12–1000V) covers typical household electrical work well. One thing to keep in mind is that, like all non-contact testers, it’s best used for quick checks rather than precise measurements. It’s a great first safety check but shouldn’t replace a full multimeter for detailed work. Overall, this is a very useful and affordable tool to have on hand for basic electrical safety. Pros: easy to use, quick detection, clear alerts, built-in flashlight Cons: not for precise measurements

Fixed my bad Christmas light sets!
It is a nice non-contact voltage tester and feels sturdy for the cost. It is rather sensitive which makes it harder to pinpoint cable breaks or troubleshoot Christmas lights. It would be nice if you could adjust the sensitivity. I did correct several Christmas light and wire problems with it. You just have to shield off the wires or bulbs with your hand. There are several good YouTube videos showing how to troubleshoot Xmas lights.

Decent Tester for Light DIY Use, but Not for Professionals
Decent Tester for Light DIY Use, but Not for Professionals The Neoteck Non-Contact AC Voltage Tester Pen is a solid entry-level tool for quick electrical checks, but it’s not without quirks. It reliably detects standard 120V and 240V lines and gives clear feedback through both light and sound. The built-in LED flashlight is handy for working in dark corners, and the fact that it runs on AAA batteries (instead of button cells) is a big plus for convenience and longevity. That said, it’s not the most sensitive unit I’ve used. It sometimes struggles to pick up lower voltages or hidden wires that higher-end testers (like Klein or GB) detect easily. The alert light pulses rather than staying solid, which can make subtle readings harder to interpret. The casing feels decent but slightly bulky, likely due to the battery design. For homeowners and DIYers doing basic outlet or wire checks, it’s perfectly fine and adds an extra layer of safety. Just don’t treat it as a precision instrument — confirm critical circuits with a multimeter before working on them. Bottom line: affordable, convenient, and good enough for everyday electrical safety checks, but not the tool you’d want to rely on for professional diagnostic work.

Great tester for someone who is in the know
I received a similar voltage stick as this,CEF (UK)was the supplier, same circuitry etc, the unit is brilliant, with some knowledge, the unit shows on a bar or two ghost potential, mutual inductance etc, when on a live cable, like right next to the probe, it's red, for example on a three core flex, line, neutral and earth aka ground, the probe can be rotated around the circular flex and live can be located or neutral, even though it's very close to each other, used so many times it's simply practice to quickly test, so on a closely connected neutral and line it's child's play, The meter scale from yellow to red is really useful, as it's not a binary light up and sound OR not, relying very much on the tester to determine, but the accurate scale of (if memory serves) four yellow LEDs to two red leaves room for knowledge, intuition on experience, a quick rule of thumb, one or two yellow, ghost or residual or mutual/ inductance voltage, 3 or more yellow, neutral and finally one or two red, live, it varies one either way for type of circuit / equipment or situation, but the rule of thumb is like 95% spot on, I am a fluke, megger, metrowatt, kewtech, etc guy, but this voltage stick for a passive device is brilliant, the more you use it, then you just know how its nuances are, Invaluable and ability to create a higher resolution from the circuit dependent binary of live or not, sound and light up or not, just proves again, cost is no metric for quality or performance, Make sure if your meter is in reserve in a toolbox or in storage, REMOVE THE BATTERIES! batteries leak and knacker the meter, had a Klein pen voltage stick ruined by a leaking Duracell battery, fixed down to component level, but it's a non serviceable unit, so makes a mess getting into the gubbins,
