Excellent Color Night Vision
I hooked this camera up to a Samsung/Hanwha Techwin HRX-1620 DVR and was able to connect it with either ONVIF or RTSP. This is my first IP camera and I've immediately fallen in love with IP cameras powered with PoE/PoE+. No more having to custom order video cables and power supplies like I had to with analog cameras, and the framerate is not as limited either. It's got a built in web server so you can configure it over the network, which is awesome (on analog cameras, you usually have to fiddle with a little joystick thing using a usually terrible OSD menu). It has a good number of configuration options. In particular, this camera has excellent night vision capability; it does have a B/W night time mode, but you can configure it to stay in color mode 24/7 and it still works very well in very low light conditions, which is what I was looking for. I'm impressed.

Best lowlight IP cameras I have used so far.
I have used a variety of cameras from many different manufactures and I ca say to date these are the best performing nighttime cameras in this price point. For many years, nighttime cameras were only 2mp to not overwhelm the utilized sensor. These come with a 1/1.8” sensor which allows these 4mp cameras to have stellar nighttime video. These sensors are also used in 4k/8mp cameras as well but then you start overwhelming the sensor which will add noise to your image. This brings me to saying that these offer a well-balanced image during day and night. Again, for this price range this is the best-balanced camera you can purchase if nighttime image quality is a must. Look for the 5442 series and you should not be disappointed. This camera also records audio since it has a built in mic.The first image is in IR mode and it is about 2:45am with street lighting and a car driving by.The second image is the same camera at 4am with just street lights in color mode. The third image is again same camera almost at 8am.Still working on my color saturation but this should give you some ideas of the quality you get form these cameras. They are well worth the price.

I love the old version, not so much the S3
I will buy the old version until it is gone, I have over a dozen cameras of this shape, I will not buy the S3, it has plain Phillips screws and a more 'busy' shape that attracts more looks...

Best overall Can for the money
This is a high performance low light beast. With a couple carriage lights on outside I can see a crystal clear view not too far off from daylight visible. With no lights but the street lights, and IR turned off, I get an extremely clear black and white view. Very happy and tempted to replace all my other IP cams with it.

Very good unit for the money.
I have moved over to using Dahua (Loryta) cameras after my Lorex system died from an unfortunate lightning strike. These cameras (2.8mm and 3.6mm) are in a completely different ball game when compared to the quality of image and ease of adjustment of the Lorex IP cameras I was using. The night time images are better in every way. I initially ordered one to try out to see if I would want to order more and have since ordered nearly a dozen of them. Andy is also very helpful with firmware updates and any questions about settings and issues.
