So good
The first thing I made with this gochugaru was a batch of chili-garlic udon and wow! so good. Good heat level plus deep smoky-sweet flavor. This product is hot but not too hot for us folks who like the heat. I shared this with someone who also likes heat but not as much as I do and they said it was about as hot as they could stand. They still ate all of their share though! The color is also great, very deep crimson red. Itโs super good in clam chowder and on cucumber slices. I canโt wait to try some on pizza!!

Fresh - Fast - Fabulous
Perfect for Asian dishes. Arrives quickly in a resealable airtight package. It is exactly what I need for cucumber kimchi. Not too hot, not too bland. This type of pepper has NO substitution. Seriously, I've tried. So, in traditional Korean dishes, it's a must. It adds great color without making the dish too spicy to eat. It also has an almost undescribable flavor- only found with this type of pepper. Maybe smoky or earthy - probably both? Not sure, but it is a must have. It will store for a very long time - as with any spice, don't store/expose it to light and high heat for extended periods of time. Can be used in Thai, Indian and Moroccan foods as well. Great on fish. Probably in Mexican food too - if you want the color and not the 3rd degree burn.

Great texture and flavor.
Was expecting more heat, but the color and texture, as well as the pepper nuttiness are all very high quality. I use for making all sorts of dishes. If you love red pepper but can't take the heat, this product is perfect.

Great pepper powder
I live in the middle of nowhere, so we have no Asian grocery stores for miles, not even decent international foods sections, so I have to order some things online. I bought this to make kimchi with, and various other Korean recipes. In college, I had a roommate from South Korea and she got me hooked on Korean foods. Unfortunately, I'd have to go over 100 miles to find a Korean restaurant now. This is a nice coarse chili powder, nice smell, great taste, you can put it in or on anything at all when you want a bit of heat and flavor. I like this a lot.

Excellent flavor, and mild heat
This is an excellent ingredient at a very appealing price. The pepper has a fruity flavor profile and isn't horrifically hot - it can easily be used as a flavoring agent as well as a heat source. It is indispensable for making Korean dishes, but I use it in more than only Korean food and the coarse texture (there is a fine textured version available as well) adds to both the visual and textural appeal of dishes. It's a very handy condiment to have around the house.

Great
Great, although not as hot as I would have liked but nonetheless Iโm still satisfied.

Great for Kimchi
I just got into fermenting vegetables and have been wanting to make Kimchi. This red pepper has been great for a few recipes I've tried including Kimchi, spicy fermented carrots, and a basic spicy sauerkraut. I will also add it to random dishes to add some spice without going overboard like regular cayenne red pepper will. Packaged well, very fresh.

Delicious! and not just for kim chi!
My first attempt at making kim chi I used ground red peppers from New Mexico. It was ok but definitely not the same. I decided to go with these pepper flakes as the reviews for it are high. Oh my! What a difference! My second batch of kim chi turned out perfect! These pepper flakes are not only good for kim chi; I have also used it on chicken, pork, and fish dishes. VERY yummy!
