This is by far the best brand of wheat berries I've ever purchased. They are a little expensive, but they are well worth it! The taste after milling, baking...chefs kiss, best flavor I've found in wheat berries yet, clean, easy to store what more can I say they are the best, in my opinion.

I've been milling my own flour for a couple of years now, and I'm always searching for high-quality, clean wheat berries. I decided to try Palouse Brand because of their commitment to being glyphosate-free and the fact that they're a family farm. I'm so glad I did. Right out of the bag, you can tell these are quality. The berries are clean, uniform, and have a fresh, wholesome smell. They grind into a beautiful, soft, light-colored flour that has been incredible to work with in my sourdough starter and loaves. The flavor it adds is fantastic—slightly sweet, nutty, and so much better than anything store-bought. Plus, the bag has a little code you can scan to see exactly when and where your wheat was harvested. That level of transparency is amazing. This is my new go-to, without a doubt.

I absolutely love these hard white wheat berries! I grind them fresh into flour and use the flour to make whole wheat sourdough bagels every week, and they turn out both delicious and nutritious. The flavor is great, and I love knowing I’m using freshly ground whole grain flour in my baking. These have become a staple in my kitchen, and I’ll definitely be buying them again!

I’ve been very happy with these hard white wheat berries. The flavor is excellent and noticeably better than other bulk wheat I’ve used. When milled on a fine setting, the flour still retains part of the bran and germ, which adds depth and character without being overly coarse or bitter. I’ve used this wheat for both bread and cookies, and it performs well in each application. The bread has a pleasant, slightly sweet wheat flavor and good structure, and the cookies come out with a richer taste than what I get from store-bought whole wheat flour. It strikes a nice balance between flavor and versatility. I also appreciate the transparency of the Palouse Brand — knowing it’s certified glyphosate residue free, non-GMO, and family farmed in Washington gives confidence in the quality. The berries arrived clean, uniform, and well packaged for long-term storage. Overall, this is a high-quality wheat berry that mills beautifully and produces great-tasting flour. I’ll definitely be ordering again.

For milling it into flour, it's easy. I love the feeling of making bread from scratch. Great taste that matters the most including your health.

Excellent product however, they take on the taste of the burlap bag which has a horrible smell! Please use different packaging.

I had a very primal experience with these grains. I milled them in my vitamix and then made bread, and when I ate the first bite, I started crying. I felt so connected to my food source, in a way that has been very much lacking in this modern age where we deal with spreadsheets and then food appears in a bag from the store. The grains are amazingly clean and dust-free. I wish they were a bit cheaper, but they are worth it for the nutrition of ALL the parts of the grain (bran, germ, and endosperm) and the enzymes and vitamins that only exist when it is milled fresh. Note that my photo is of the 5lb bag that I purchased previously, not the 18lb bag that this review is for. I really like the rustic burlap sack of the 5lb bag. Note that for making bread, you may have to knead it MUCH longer than all-purpose flour — look up videos of making bread with fresh-milled flour. I’m very happy with these grains.
