CrescentCRW23 3/4" Drive Flex Handle with 19" Breaker Bar

First off, let me say this is a very nice breaker bar. It is made in Taiwan by Apex Group, same folks that bring you GearWrench, Husky, and several other brands. However, for some strange reason, there is a tremendous amount of misunderstanding regarding how long this breaker bar actually is. Amazon states the length as 7.7" however that must include the plastic product packaging, because when you strip that away the actual product is only 6 inches long. C'mon Amazon, please add an accurate statement of how long this breaker bar is to your product description, what is important to users of this tool is the length of the breaker bar itself, not the plastic packaging! It is important to DIY mechanics like me that are looking for a 1/4" breaker bar that is longer and provides a bit more leverage than the standard 6" fare. Otherwise, this is a good value in a very nicely made 1/4" breaker bar.

Nice tool but the best part is I got it for half price ($6.50) as an add-on item. Only used it a few times and it worked nicely, but I didn't require high breaking torque, so I can't really testify to its strength or durability. I don't know if it is made in USA or China (suspect China, like the mechanics tool set I have), but they seem to be better than average quality for China made tools. The most disturbing fact (reason for one star off) is that I could not find this particular tool on the official Crescent (ApexToolGroup) website. Is it a fake? Who knows these days, but so far I'm happy with my purchase.

My 1/4" drive ratchet (el cheapo) just skipped on its gears when I tried to break loose a batter hold-down bolt with it. This 1/4" drive breaker bar fit in the tight space and broke the bolt loose without trouble. It's nicely made.

I needed the extra 3 inches for just a tad more leverage from my 15" husky breaker bar. I like the quality, fit, and finish. it also has a detent for the bit to stay in place when full extended. My husky doesn't have that. Tested it out on some car lug nuts torqued at 75# and it did a fine job. has more leverage than the 15 as expected, and i didnt want or felt the need for a 24" mostly because i wanted to be able to fit this into my toolchest.

This feels like a quality tool. Feels nice and strong, and feels good in the hands. Has a nice smooth finish. The only problem I have is the drive pivots too easily. Esp when using u joint adapters. Other than that i am happy with this tool. I own a few tools made by crescent and so far they have not let me down!

I was expecting a soft rubberized grip from the picture. What I got was hard clear plastic grip with a painted part next to the driver end. looked kind of like a Craftsman. It seems sturdy enough. It will probably last me the rest of my life.

The tool I got was great, but the tool I got did not look like the one in the picture. The one I got was slim and gray and black, not red and gray and wide.

This ones a decent size. Maybe you work with some of those guys that have breaker bars so big that you need to put the car six feet in the air to use it on a bolt? I do, and I find it ridiculous. This one fits in my smaller tool box and gives me enough leverage to beak a bolt loose without numbing the experience to the point where I dont know if the head is twisting off or if the bolts coming loose.Great piece.
