Tecnu Extreme Poison Ivy & Oak Scrub—Removes Toxin from Skin That Causes Poison Ivy and Poison Oak Rash, 4-Ounce Tube, (Pack of 2)

This stuff is a LITERAL miracle worker!!! I have no idea how it works but it totally does!!!! Worth every penny!!!!!

First time I got poison ivy after recently moving into poison ivy land of Indiana, even though I did not use this scrub until days after the horrid affliction, it worked better than anti-itch sprays in deadening the itch. You'd think I'd learn, but no, apparently in my work around my many acres I got exposed again. I do not know exactly how but last night I awoke suddenly at 1 a.m. and my hands and forearms were all rash and extremely itchy! I wanted to follow a wire brush treatment with gasoline!! Instead I scrubbed with this Technu scrub and followed with Technu anti-itch gel. It calmed it down enough that I was able to keep my claws off it and worry myself to sleep. I wake up this morning and the rash is gone!! Now, I know poison ivy and it can flare up there again during the next 2 weeks. If so, I will NOT scratch (ha! that's exactly what it wants!) and use the scrub and the gel only if necessary (it warns to only use 3X a day, no more) and I fully believe I will NOT have to buy a heavy duty wire brush to remove my skin. Thank you Technu! I seldom review, believing the product should perform and not need accolades but this product is amazing, truly.

This stuff is amazing! Both my boys (8 and 6 years old) were covered in poison ivy and spreading it like crazy. Calamine multiple times a day was just not doing the job. I was close to calling the doc for a round of steroids but figured I’d give this stuff a shot first. I am very impressed!!! I really wish I would have taken pictures because they had it pretty bad and this scrub + anti-itch gel has them almost cleared up in just 3 days. Significantly more comfortable after just 1 day. Every night I have them wash regularly in the shower and then turn the water off. I use the scrub while their skin is still wet and let it sit while I scrub all the affected areas. After I’ve scrubbed everywhere I go around and rub the scrub in one last time (by this time their skin is drying so the existing scrub on their skin gets a little thicker and not as watered down as the first round of scrubbing- no need to add more). Then have them rinse in cool water. Pat dry and apply the ant-itch gel. So far just using the scrub once a day before bed has helped a lot! The first day I had to use the gel once during the day on them, but other than that it has also been once daily before bed. So glad I found this stuff.

Unlike Zanfel, which is almost criminally misrepresented and overpriced, this stuff does just what it's supposed to and is relatively affordable. It scrapes and scrubs your skin, so if you use it immediately after exposure it should remove the oils. DO THAT! Unfortunately I didn't realize I was infected til the next day, and then didn't think to wash my bedsheets til the third day, when it had spread over about a quarter of my body. So I tried everything, and this stuff provided the best short- to medium-term relief. Don't fool yourself, nothing gets rid of poison oak, ivy, or sumac except for steroids (cream) and/or time. It spread on me for three weeks and then slowly went away, leaving faint red patches all over my body three months later. During that ordeal I tried everything on the planet. Tecnu was very good at doing what it's supposed to, and it costs 1/10th as much as Zanfel.

This stuff is a heavy hitter. I use it anytime I am out back into the poison ivy. It wipes it out quickly every time!

This product gives the fight against poison oak an added punch. It is stronger and better than regular Tecnu. I've been battling poison oak for almost a year. And I can tell you it takes time, patience, and a consistent healing program to get rid of it. Unfortunately I didn't try this product until a few months ago. But had I started using it sooner, I have no doubts it would have cut my healing time at least by a third if not by half. Additional items I've used and recommend applied to the rash location after you've used this product and allowed the area to air dry. Be sure to always spot test a patch of skin with these products to make sure it's okay before you slather all over your body: 1. cold pressed organic aloe vera - applied to the rash, suspected rash area, or previous rash area until rash is completely gone and has been cleared up and not returned (over a week or more after yoi think it's "healed"). Let the aloe dry on sky and then apply: 2. cortizone cream (not the oinement) - Please note, it is not recommended by either Tecnu Extreme or cortizone cream to use beyond 7-10 days because you're supposed to seek medical care (which I would recommend). However, I've been using both beyond that point because I've continued to have flair ups of the rash when I thought the areas had healed. If you sleep on sheets, with any of the rash areas touching the sheets, wash your sheets every day in HOT water. Same goes for clothes. In fact the less clothes you can wear, or less chaffing against any rash areas, the faster it will heal and less potential for flair ups you'll have. Also, problems with your liver, issues with anger (the emotion for the liver meridian in Chinese medicine), and/or stress messing up your adrenals will cause your body to have more flair ups and take you longer to truly heal from the poison oak. Stay away from putting any of your normal lotions/creams/oils etc on your rash areas because it has a higher probability of irritating the already irritated rash. We also put a filter in our shower head to filter out all the chlorine, minerals etc which seemed to help my skin's healing as well.

Really worth keeping around. So far it has worked. I bought extra for my sons house

If I could give this 10 stars i would!!! I live in the country and I work outside alot. Most of the time it's clearing brush and I get in the poison ivy all the time. So much so I am miserable. I used another brand of poison ivy stuff and they discontinued it. I searched on Amazon for an alternative and came across Tecnu. I thought I would give it a try. I started with 1 tube to see if and how well it worked. To my surprise it was awesome! Absolutely the best product I have found. Now i make sure i have 3 or 4 tubes under the sink all the time. I dont want to run out. Trick is to follow the directions and use it as soon as you come in for the day. I just found out that Tecnu makes a itch gel called Tecnu Maximum Strength Calagel. It's good for bug bites cause I get a lot of those too. I am very pleased with this product too!

I was literally in agony, for three days prior, even using a medicated steroid ointment from the doctor, chalomine lotion, and Burning hot baths (that was the best) but every thing was temporary. This at first use took the itching away. It does come back like 8 hours later but you just repeat process and no more itching. This stuff should be in pharmacys.

I highly suggest keeping Technu on hand if you love the outdoors. Although I am very familiar with the looks of poison ivy, I have occasionally been surprised by it popping up in my garden or on a local trail. Technu is a lifesaver for minimizing the effects of urushiol on poison ivy. As a bonus, it exfoliates nicely.

This stuff is my saving grace! Last year I suffered all summer and into the fall with severe poison ivy. Prednisone would clear it but the day I finished my dosages, it would come back. I tried everything under the sun. This summer I found Technu. Within one wash with it my ivy is noticeably better the next day. It speeds up healing dramatically. I live in a wooded area and have outdoor pets so now that I'm extremely sensitive to poison ivy I bought all of Technu's products. It has made summer enjoyable again.

Poison oak? Poison Ivy? Get this!!! Its awesome
