A few years back, Fine Woodworking Magazine did a test review on about 12 rest inhibitors. CRC 3-36 came out on top when tested on steel plates. I've been a woodworker for 48 years and use it on all my cast-iron machine tops. Depending on the weather here in California, I get about 3 months out of a light application before having to re-apply it. I apply it with a small of cloth at the end of the day. It seems to fill the micro pores of the iron. I wipe any excess in the morning. It makes my table tops slicker. It has never caused fish eye in any of my finishes. It is also a good lubricant. I have seen 03003, 03005, and 03160 so far, so the 3-36 actually comes in different products. The pros: + At $14.49 for this 16 oz CRC 3-36 pump bottle costs less than the 11 oz CRC 3-36 aerosol can! + Free Amazon shipping. + I use this multipurpose lubricant for many uses, but the main use is to keep my B&D 24" hedge cutter blade lubricated, which this spray bottle does a pretty good job! + Doesn't have an overly strong odor. + Advertised - Lubricates without leaving a sticky mess. + Advertised - Penetrates through corrosion to loosen frozen parts + Advertised - Prevents corrosion by displacing moisture. + Advertised - Volatile organic compounds (VOC) compliant. + Advertised - NSF H2 registered for use in meat and poultry plants . + Advertised - Dielectric Strength - 47100 volts.
