Lots of lead load data
Another great book from Lyman I always learn a new trick from my books it really helps to have several sources of info to help to make up loads that might not be listed in the books exactly. With high pressure guns you want to be as carful as possible with starting loads to weak and stick a bullet in the barrel Not Good. To strong and damage the gun or your self. Don't rely on online suggestions always double check with trusted published books is the only way and read the whole book. I have been reloading for a long time and I still read and check. and do your self a favor and get a good chrono I used to load with out one and when I finally picked one up I was surprised how many of my loads were over charged or under charged you need to keep the FPS with the load data to keep the pressure within the limits. Pro Chrono is a great one mine has worked flawlessly for a long time in the Arizona heat Happy Reloading.........

Excellent reloading resource
This book is an excellent resource for the reloader who wants to reload using cast bullets. In addition to the load data for several cartridges, this book contains several useful articles on bullet casting, reloading, and shooting lead bullets. Along with the other Lyman reloading handbooks, this is a must-have in your reloading library.

well worth the price
This is a great book if you want to load up some cast. the science of getting the right speed for the hardness of the bullet will take some testing.

This has the cast bullet data needed for cast bullet reloading
Lyman has once again come up with the needed information. If you Cast your own bullets this manual is most valuables. I cast and load for both rifle and pistol. Th loading data I need is here even for Lee and Saco molds. A good Value.

The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 4th Edition is an excellent reference for the "caster" and a great addition to ...
The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 4th Edition is an excellent reference for the "caster" and a great addition to any "reloaders" library. Mike Venturino is always a "good read" and he knows more about bullet casting than any two "experts" of the last two generation. He will not only tell you what will work, he is generous and humble enough to share mistakes he has made along the way in order to expedite your loading education. One might describe him as a "stand up guy" whose honesty and integrity shows in his writings (no, I'm not kin and have never had the pleasure of meeting him). The only fault I noticed was the "parroting" of an old "loading factoid" prefaced in a few of the "tables" that are identical to the same comments in their "oldest" Lyman books. An example of this is the "old saw" that "Microgroove barrels will not deliver accuracy if loaded above 1600fps" (those on the Marlin forum has proven this to be untrue through testing). Matter of fact, just the opposite is true if the bullet is sufficiently hard to drive at maximum velocity with a bullet that is at least .002 over normal size (a "poster" named Ranch Dog distributes molds based on this finding). I can't cite multiple editing mistakes, or where Lyman has used old data for new discoveries, so this one indiscretion (at least for me) can be easily overlooked for the massive amount of information it puts at the "finger tips" of the "common layman interested in obtaining safe, accurate loads. I have always appreciated Lyman's effort to provide loading data that includes pressure data, and the "theoretically" best powder/accuracy load (Many of their "accuracy loads" are "spot on", even in guns with different barrels and actions). I own several of Lyman's loading books to include one of the first they published and feel that no "shooter" or reloader's library is anywhere near completion without at least one of their excellent reference books. Thank you for your contribution, Lyman! Sincerely, Ken J.

Most complete cast bullet handbook I've seen
It should be the most complete, it's huge. Lots of great info for beginners and old hands. Lots of load data, even for many old and obscure cartridges. (50-70 for instance, also 45-90 and 45-110). Load data also includes data for molds from other manufacturers. A lot is devoted to competitive shooter, which I'm not, but the hints are worth reading and you can follow the ones you want or have the time to do. I'm not anal enough (most of the time) to weigh all the bullets I cast, but then again, I don't get MOA groups with my cast bullets, either. A lot of my reviews have a high number of stars. This is because I research an item before I buy it. Product reviews have proven most valuable to me. (Thank you to all reviewers.) I encourage each purchaser to complete an honest review and submit. These reviews are invaluable to future buyers.

Excellent book. Lots of very useful information.I have been casting bullets for 15 years and I learned a lot from this book. I like the fact that there is load data for Lee, Saeco,Rcbs and Lyman moulds. Very recommended. Mike Venturino is one of my favourite authors and he has done very well in the way he presents the information.

Just what I needed

This is the handloader’s Holy Bible. I found this out for myself after finally getting off my ass and buying it. I’ve already had a lot of questions answered and have used the alloy recipe for Lyman #2 and now cast some fine bullets which work. Great book.

If you use handload and use cast bullets then you should have a copy of this manual. Even if you have been reloading for years it still has a place on your bookshelf.
