Nothing special, but worth the shot to try. I guess. Don't confuse chili flakes with Sichuam *peppercorns*. Those are the tingly ones.

I purchased Sichuan red chili powder to add to a kimchi recipe, and it worked really well. It provides a nice spicy flavour without making the kimchi too hot. I've also been using the leftovers in stir-fries and hot and sour soup. I would highly recommend this for Asian-style cooking.
