Received these wire nuts. Did not use for a month, until needed. I tried about 15 or 20 of them, and nearly half of them the spring would break loose, and the cap would fall off. In 40 years of my trade I have never experienced that with any wire nut. These are absolutely a waste of money. Thirty days have passed since purchased…in the trash they go.

The connector is really really tiny. Smaller than blue wire nuts. Absolutely no way this would keep 2-14ga wires.

I have mostly switched over to more advanced designs for many uses, especially with smaller size wires, but classic wire nuts still have a place in my tool box. This huge bag will last me for many years, but it is such a good deal I am happy to have them. Quality seems similar to ones sold at the big box stores.

He said that the coil spring in these grabs the wires quickly upon turning and twists snugly on the wires. Since one of these falling off could easily be dangerous, he experimented with a couple of these by testing how much force would be required to pull two 12AWG wires apart and these held as well as the industrial wire nuts that he keeps on hand for critical applications. The body is a rigid plastic and is reasonably easy to grip. Electrical tape sticks to them well and tight enough to make a good seal. After using at least a couple dozen of these on a recent project over the past two weeks, he didn't come across any defective ones. Highly recommend.
