Well made, but it is up to YOU to ensure it is properly used.
Don't skimp on safety, and don't assume the harness will protect the dog without modifications. This is one of very few dog seat belts that did not completely disintegrate during testing by the Pet Safety Center, however, it still failed their criteria as it allowed the dog to fly around the car interior, risking tremendous injury. The manufacturer addressed this problem by shortening the tether and making it non-adjustable, but in a small car like the Toyota Corolla it still gives the dog too much slack. If the dog can strike seats, consoles, or other objects during an accident then the harness is worthless. This is a problem shared by ALL dog seat belts. Leaving the dog enough room to be comfortable yet ensuring they are restrained well enough to prevent injury during an accident is a tricky balance. Your options are:1. Tell the dog to deal with being uncomfortable, toss the tether, and hook the harness directly to the seat belt by a climbing-rated carabiner.2. If your backseat is large enough, use the included tether after testing to ensure that at the extreme end of the travel, the dog's head will not strike anything in the car.3. Devise some ridiculous contraption where you string the seat belts together through a carabiner and some tubular nylon, then hook the dog to that.I went with #3, which required several attempts and some testing to ensure safety.--------------Edit: Here's how I used the harness in my Honda Civic:Take the 2 rear seatbelts, hook them into their respective buckles. Then take the shoulder strap from each belt and put them both in the same carabiner. The carabiner should now be sitting about halfway up the seat, and in the center. Use a second carabiner and attach the harness to the first carabiner. This places the attachment point above the dog, instead of at dog level, so the dog can stand, sit, and lay down. It allows the dog to comfortably lay across the whole back seat, instead of just on one side. Further, it prevents forward and lateral travel during an accident, striking a good balance between comfort and safety.

Very well made
I have a large Rottweiler and most of the safety harnesses I looked at did not seem sturdy enough to hold her in the event of an accident; the reviews were such that they said they had problems within a couple of months; the dog could get out or or tangled up or the harness was so big and stiff that she would not be able to lay down. This harness has a v neck that fits great; it is reinforced throughout and attaches well to the seat belt. My only complaint is that it is a little difficult to get on and off. Thankfully she is well behaved and sits still while I have to adjust the straps but I would not recommend this if your dog will not stand still. So far I have to put a separate harness on her to walk around with since it is fairly large and stiff now. Still is worth it because want her to be safe in the car.

Could be great for some dogs, but not mine.
I have tried several different harnesses for my German shepherd and while this harness did seem to be very well made and super durable, my big problem with it was the way it adjusted. After you put in over the dogs head, then through each leg, and get the 2 buckles closed it then has to be tightened. Which maybe for some dogs it's a piece of cake to get them to stay calm and still long enough but mine is not one of those dogs. I couldn't imagine having to go through that routine daily. If it had 2 additional buckles so it would fully open I would have liked it so much more. So, i would only recommend this harness to people with VERY patient dogs. Also, I found that it did run slightly bigger in size than it says in decription so you might want to account for that.

Protect the ones you love because every day with them shouldn't be taken for granted!
I had a friend visiting me from Brazil and he came for a ride in my truck with one of my Pitt Bulls. He said I would get arrested in Brazil for having an unharnessed dog in the car, as it is the law there. He further told me how a dog could die in a crash, cause a crash or cause the life of a passenger AND the dog - it the dog hit a passenger during a crash. He said it's like a 75 lb brick hitting someone in the head during a crash. It really made me think - my dogs are treasures like children. I wouldn't let my kid be in the vehicle without a safety belt in case of a crash - and I would now not let my pooch be without one either. THIS is an amazing product. I also purchased the the retractable seat belt system as well - although this will work without it. The quality of these products is unbelievable! You always get what you pay for, and although there are much cheaper harnesses out there - NOTHING is as well made as these. When it comes to protecting the ones I love - NOTHING is too expensive!

size
I have used this twice in the last two weeks. I ordered according to their size chart for my 80 pound GSD puppy. I absolutely cannot get it to fit and that is after watching Robert Cabral's you tube channel on how to put it on. He is a huge fan of this harness. When I put it on the second time, I noted that one of the straps has a cut in in?? It is now past the acceptable return date, which is upsetting. I had no chance to use it until the last few weeks and now cannot return it. It's either defective, or my puppy chewed it during a 30 minute drive to the trainers, which if it's the latter, it doesn't say much for the sturdiness of the straps. I do like it and would like to be able to exchange it. three stars is simply for my inability to exchange it. The harness itself is great. UPDATE...I spoke with Rich from 4x4 and he was very nice and is going to replace the harness! SO...FIVE stars

Excellent
This is the only harness I have ever gotten which actually seems like it cushions my dog's body when she pulls on the harness. It is exciting that it is a tested seatbelt too and works just as well in the car. I have the short and the longer strap that attaches to the seatbelt but have not used it more than once in the car. It is the best harness I have used yet for my beagle who can't smell fast enough when we are on a walk.

Lieber kleiner bestellen!
