Burg-Wachter 2M Sold Secure Lock Kit Bike, Black, 2M

This lock comprises a really solid hardened steel chain encased in a tough fabric sleeve that protects your bike, and a chunky lock (you get three keys). The chain is Sold Secure Platinum and the lock Sold Secure Gold, so it meets the requirements for expensive bikes insured in the UK at least. I bought the two metre chain which allows me to run the chain through a wall anchor and then through mine and my wife's bikes.I would recommend this lock kit to secure your bike(s) at home, but whilst you're out cycling, I think this lock is too heavy to take with you, comfortably at least. You can feel the strength in the chain links by the way they clink solidly. It feels like an angle-grinder would take so long trying to cut through the links as to alert you to see what was happening.The lock is designed only to take the two ends of the chain, not to attach through your bike frame. This small size of the U-lock means it is hard to get any leverage if a thief tried to prise the shackle open.At £35, this robust, well made lock kit is, how do I put it...a steal! The Sold Secure Gold rating makes it really worth the money, and the long chain makes it very practical. I highly recommend it.

I recommend this lock as I have faith in the Burg Watcher company and this is solid secure Gold chain / Diamond secure for the padlock.I would confirm the length is suitable for where you want to put the bike. I use this to lock the front wheel to the hangin / vertical bike rack and the 1.0m is just enough room to go through the frame. My rear wheel is secured to frame using another companies D-Lock.It is heavy, estimate 2.5kg with padlock, so you don't want to commute with it. I leave mine at work.I've been using for a few weeks and it works well for me. I would recommend.

Its feels super sturdy and strong too but i am giving it 4 stars, because of its weight. Its super heavy about 3.5kg and it sometimes not easy to tie with my fat tire alloy wheel ebike. But if you can bare its weight its highly recommended lock.

Big, hefty, heavy, chunky chain with a correspondingly solid lock. Too heavy for use whilst cycling unless you have a pannier or other suitable bag but great for securely storing a bike in a static position at home or on a vehicle mounted rack. Feels like it will last for centuries and resist all but the most determined and well-equipped thieves.

As expected, solid and very secure

Decent quality lock. Be warned that it is heavy (around 3kg for the 2m version). It hasn't come under any type of attack while I've been using it, but it seems to be sturdy enough to withstand a prolonged attack. The chain is Sold Secure Gold rated, and the lock is Sold Secure Diamond rated, so it's useful for insurance if you've got a high value bike. Though it goes without saying that the more locks you have, the better. But this is more than suitable as a main lock. Overall, I would recommend this.

Nice, solid chain. It obviously could be bolt cropped but so far it has kept my bike safe at home. I like the turning cover, to keep water out of the mechanism. I treated it with GT85 PTFE spray before use and it has stayed well lubricated and easy to use in spite of being outside in very heavy rain all autumn and winter. Compared to other brands, it’s great value for money.

El candado se ve robusto, viene recubierto por una tela para evitar directamente el roce metálico. Hay pocos candados de más de 2 metros y es lo que necesitaba, nunca llegan a ser exactamente de la medida que anuncian pero bueno. El candado quizá podría ser más robusto.

L'ho preso pensando potesse andar bene per la bici ma purtroppo per me è davvero troppo pesante. Andrebbe decisamente meglio per una moto.Sembra molto resistente e anche il lucchetto sembra ottimo, anche le chiavi di ferro non si piegano e si vede che sono di qualità. Ho dovuto fare il reso solo per il peso, altrimenti l'avrei tenuto.Di sicuro ha un aspetto massiccio e direi che scoraggia i ladri.
