After using this for 8 months I can safely say I am hooked! I hate gardening, but I love gadgets and this, easy-to-use system, is fantastic.Be warned - there are no seeds with this. Also, ensure you get seeds that won't grow into large plants.I tried half tomato varieties and half pepper/chilli varieties for my first batch and the tomatoes went crazy. Unfortunately, this also meant the peppers didn't get as much light as they should have as I had to move the adjustable light up as the plants grew and the peppers were further away and shaded by the tomatoes.Eventually, I got some cherry tomatoes and a couple of single peppers but I think the problem was more with choosing the wrong plants. Also, keep in mind that you may have to use a small artist's paintbrush or something else delicate to cross-fertilise the flowers yourself as you are not (likely) going to get the insects to do this for you indoors. Only a problem if you are trying to grow fruit or veg like me.I recently started over and am now trying to grow all-year-round strawberries. Wish me luck!Some things to note :Everything you need is supplied (except for seeds) - and there were 10 spare sponges in my kit.The unit is very easy to assemble.If you are not using all 12 "pods" then you will need to cover the remaining holes to prevent light from getting in or you will get algae inside and it will spread to the sponges.You will need replacement food after a few months. I now use Tripart and measure out into an old 5L car washer liquid bottle, but you can buy the same food mix you get with the system as spares.Keep on top of the roots. They will grow quickly into the water and need to be trimmed regularly or you'll end up clogging up the pump that moves the water around.It's addictive and fun!It would be great for young kids to learn about plants and how they grow.

Mine was sent with no rubber drain plug installed at the rear and none included in any of the packaging.Of course, the manual also does not tell you about its existence.Started filling mine with water, only for it all to pour out over my worktop and floor.Off to a great start...

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this to have on the kitchen counter, I live in a small apartment and I'd love to grow my own herbs.It was pretty easy to assemble and instructions are clear, not that you need the instructions it's pretty self-explanatory. I did need some guidance using the plant food since I've never had a hydroponic planter before so that was useful.I have planted different seeds, mint, coriander, parsley... The first seeds are germinating in as little as 2 days!

Every day they have dramatically changed ! It was easy and quick to set up and to get my seeds planted. I also transferred some seedlings from another grow system into this one as the grow baskets are compatible. I am expecting great harvests.

The media could not be loaded.  Once plugged into Power, product beeps without stopping. Press the power button and there is still a continuous high shrieking beeping. To connect rod to upper light had to tear off a glued on rubber ring, the instructions said nothing about it but it could not connect with it glued on.

The media could not be loaded.  Great system for growing plants indoors due to colder months or lack of garden. Uses water and added nutrients to help seeds grow. I planted all the seeds at the same time and the tomatoes are thriving. You can change between veg option that provides the uv light and the flower option that provides warm light, the light stays on for 14 hours then turns off automatically, so best to set it up early morning so it turns off by the evening. Changing options or turning off will reset the light option and you need to turn it on again at time you what so the light turns off in the evening rather than other way around.

It seems to work fine. Broke after 2 weeks.
