Like entirely too many things these days, this product doesn't remotely live up to the seller/manufacutrer claims being made.First off, despite sizing accurately before ordering according the their size, the elastic/woven portion of the support is poorly made and too lose, so it provides virtually no compression in the the most critical area - above the ankle, where the pads for the Achilles are. It also migrates around under your sock when you're walking or otherwise moving around.Secondly, as a result, the Achilles pads become ineffective window dressing, and the support overall becomes useless for its intended tasks.Sad to see something made in the US is basically garbage, especially when they charge this much for something that likely doesn't cost more than about $7 to make.

I’m an avid tennis player and now that the weather in the Mid-Atlantic isn’t as hot and humid, the courts are really where I’ve been at after work. I started to increase my tennis workouts from two to four times a week, and while doing so, I started to experience some pain in my right ankle after playing. I admittedly first played right through the pain, but as we all know, that usually doesn’t work out and make anything better. I decided to book an appointment with a physical therapist nearby so I could get an opinion about it.I was told that the repetitive stress of playing tennis more at a high intensity was affecting my Achilles tendon. I’m a big believer in doing as much as I can off the court to be better on the court, so along with physical therapy, I started looking into an ankle brace so I could have additional support. I came across the BRD Sport Achilles Ankle Brace in my search and really liked what I saw, from the materials it was made out of to the variety of colors I could choose from. I’ve been able to step out onto the tennis courts with the brace and I am already finding that I’m able to play a longer with less pain. I feel a lot more in my element and am very happy about this purchase!

I had serious Achilles tendonitis from playing competitive volleyball which took about 5 months to heal after I stopped playing. I decided to join another league and bought this brace with the hopes it would help prevent a recurrence of the tendonitis, which I thought was a slim hope. Well the tendonitis did not return so have to give this brace some of the credit. Reminder if you are in-between sizes you should order the smaller size.
