Autolock 5" Buffing Polishing Pads, 6Pcs 140mm Face for 5Inch Backing Plate | Compound Buffing Sponge and Woolen Pads Cutting Polishing Pad Kit for Car Buffer Polisher, Polishing and Waxing

I used these along with the Chemical Guys Clay Bar kit, Chemical Guys Polish pack, and chemical guys ceramic wax (see attached photos). I also used my husband's dewalt orbital sander with the pads & polish.I have taken my vehicle through car washes but I will admit I probably havent done it enough over the years. Especially since we dont have a garage or car port to shade our vehicles from the elements, and my work parking is uncovered as well. So, my van has taken A LOT of sun over the years as well as ALL the seasons and their respective elements.I have never had the outside of my van detailed before either, nor have I ever done it myself. Overall, I didn't realize how much work goes into detailing lol. Especially, since I could only do this for a couple hours in the morning and evening. And like I mentioned earlier I dont have a covered area to do this. You can't do detailing in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces. So this ENTIRE process took me two days by myself: washing, clay bar, polishing, & waxing.Considering my van is a 2016 it now looks almost brand new. I never realized how faded my paint was looking. It took my father-in-law pointing out a SERIOUS problem area just below the front of my hood to realize it needed some serious TLC - see photos.I lot of minor scratches ended up getting polished out, but there are a few severe ones that are still there. That isnt all that surprising though. And between the polish, wax, & pads my paint looks and feels much smoother than before.I took a screen grab of the recommended pad to polish combination before I started so I could easily see which pad should be used with what polish: white woolen pad = V32, orange pad = V34, yellow pad = V36, blue & black pad = V38 (blue pad for initial application and buffing, then I used the black directly after for a finer finish polish), & white pad = Ceramic wax (I used a small microfiber pad for initial wax application, used the pad for buffing after waiting the recommended 2 minutes for wax, then used a microfiber towel to fully make sure wax was buffed).Holy moly can you see the difference in my windows & paint! That major problem area just below my hood is practically gone. Along with the bad areas by my front driver & passenger windows. My father-in-law saw my van after (we bought the house next to him lol) I was done & he said it practically looks like a whole new vehicleDuring the process the pads never once loosened. The velcro between the sander & pads was very impressive. Additionally, I can very much see these pads easily lasting more than the 4-5 uses the description states. Between following the proper wash instructions and using the pad conditioner before/during use will make these last. These were definitely a great buy and worth the price.I am going to take this kit along with the polish & wax to those areas again just before winter. I believe that next detailing will completely restore those severe areas.I just cannot believe how good my van looks now. Using these with the orbital sander was awesome. I think I am going to purchase the pad conditioner next time though to get even better results with the pads and polish.

Nice buffing pads, easy to use, attach to orbital sander, turn seed down and polish. Clean orbital sander prior to buffing so u don’t get dust on the project.

Just,what the job called for,at a good price,and well made,definitely makes the task easier.

There are 4 different colored sponges and a woolen pad. Apart from the color they all look the same. They seem fairly robust. Unfortunately there is absolutely no information in the packaging or on the individual components as to what the different colors are supposed to be for. The info is theoretically on Amazon so if you don't mind interrupting your project to check Amazon then these are fine. It seems an unnecessary "cheap out" to not mark them with their intended use.

The pads fit my 6-inch backing plate perfectly and stayed securely attached throughout the polishing process. The wool pad also performed well for more aggressive cutting applications. The Hex logic pads are way more superior and last.

These polishing pads are amazing. They are durable and the various densities mean that they are great from coarse work as well as finer work. They adhere super well to my velcro drive wheel and the polishing compounds sit on the surface as opposed to being absorbed like a number of others that I have used.I am EXTREMELY happy with these pads and definitely recommend them to anyone in the market for a set.
