Okay, got this a little over a year ago and figured its time to write a review for it. The install was very easy since I have all the tools needed and some mechanical knowledge. Connecting it to the batter on the camper was easy as well as it connects to the hot (red, positive), side of the battery. It grounds to the frame of the camper with the star washers that are supplied. Now it works great for up and down. But sometimes I feel that it gets a little shaky when raising it up to connect to my truck. Just seems to want to wobble just a little. I have tightened the bolts several times but I think it could actually use a little thicker metal around the base that connects to the camper. I like the light that is on it although I don’t use it. The motor isn’t real fast and sometimes it acts like its straining but works well enough. My camper is 3200lbs and this is only rated at 3500 so that may be the issue. Not really sure how weather resistant it is, as I keep a 5-gallon bucket over the top to protect it from the weather when its not being pulled. Over all good product and I would recommend it to friends and family.

GREAT Jack for the Money! Quiet, Fast enough, LOVE the light option to light up area for hitching Day or Night. Really easy installation it took about 25 minutes from opening the box and backing up the tow vehicle to hold the weight while switching jacks, to up and running. The part that took the longest was getting the positive wire to the Battery exactly the way I wanted it (NOTE: there is no need for a negative wire so you will not have one as the unit is self-grounded with the star washers which cut into the paint enough to make a ground connection). Things to Check: *Make sure you check to be sure the jack required for your trailer is the triangular one (where the jack is mounted to the trailer frame) w/ 3 bolt holes as some trailers only accommodate a round one requiring a different Jack. *I replaced a 5,000limit manual Jack with this 3,500 Electric one - plenty of power for the job - Our 26' RV trailer has a 2,000 hitch weight limit on the trailer tongue so this still gives 1,500lbs of extra capacity if the trailer weight up front is totally maxed out which would be impossible. *I drilled a small hole in the side of the battery box closest to the positire terminal to pass the positive wire through so the wire is not pinched by the battery box top.

I ordered and installed this jack with nothing but ease! It came with all the hardware needed for a plug and play installation, and it took me all of 15 minutes to pop off the old manual jack, and install this one. The light is nice if you are hooking up or unhooking at night! The jack moves up and down very smoothly with the push of a button, and I have many friends looking into getting this for their trailers! All this being said, in all of my genius, with the jack retracted all the way up, and everything as it should be, I pulled out of a very steep car wash driveway at a bad angle, and ended up bottoming out the jack. Despite going slowly, it managed to slam the jack forward, bending the coupler it was attached to! Apparently this happens fairly often to people who are new to towing trailers! that being said, the main takeaway I have for those who question this product, is that even with it bent, and once we were able to bend it back straight, the jack STILL functioned normally with the buttons, allowing me to transport the trailer to our storage yard until the new one comes in in the mail, and I have the appointment to have the coupler replaced. Even with the console of the unit smashed, I was still able to operate the jack electronically with the buttons! If you're looking for a cost effective way to make your trailer set up and tear down easy, this is the jack for you!

GOOD JACK AND WORKS WELL! MANUALLY YOU RETRACT IT OFF THE TOP UNDER A CAP (LIKE TAKING OFF A RADIATOR CAP) PROBLEM IS.. IF WAS LIKE A GAS CAP IT WOULD STAY ON BETTER AND THE ONE I RECEIVED SOMEONE OVER TIGHTENED THE RUBBER SEAL WHICH HOLDS IT ON.. NOW IS TAPED OVER TO HOLD ON. (NOT A GOOD WAY OF MAKING THEM) MIGHT LOSE CAP GOING DOWN ROAD IF NOT TAPED AND SEALED. ) IF NOT CAPPED WATER GETS IN THE HOLE WHERE YOU MANUALLY JACK IT DOWN AND CAN GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR LIGHTS AND ELECTRICAL BOARD OF THE UNIT!!! ALWAYS MAKE SURE CAP IS ON IT!!! TAPE IT SHUT BECAUSE SEAL IS NO GOOD OR EASY TO FALL OFF. RECOMMEND THE PRODUCT HIGHLY FOR THE PRICE BUT CAP IS HORRIBLE!! ALSO THERE IS ONLY ONE WIRE OFF THIS JACK, IT GOES TO YOUR POSITIVE ON BATTERY, GROUND IS THE JACK ITSELF WHEN BOLTED TO YOUR TRAILER FRAME.. 10 MIN JOB! FAST AND VERY EASY.. FITS ANYWHERE AN ORIGINAL JACK WAS!!

This is a simple and straightforward replacement for a manual or power a-frame mounted trailer jack. It requires only a hot power lead. It is mounted with three bolts. The only thing to remember is to place the foot extension in place so that the jack lowers onto it; you probably won’t have room to put it in after you bolt the jack in place.

I have only had this for 2 months, so I can only report immediate results -- not long-term wear. So far it has proven a very capable jack. I installed it myself in a few hours, and it worked well from the start. It raises and lowers faster than I would have expected, and beats the heck out of cranking. Also, the leg cotter pin is intelligently designed so to be easier to use than some. From experience, I know that moisture getting into the unit can be fatal to it, so if you buy this, for longest life, you will probably NEED a waterproof cover -- I would recommend the BougeRV 600D Universal Trailer RV Electric Tongue Jack Protective Cover (Size 14″H x 5″W x 10″D) which fits this perfectly and is also available on Amazon for about $10. Also, if buying this jack, I would recommend getting the 4-year protection package. It's a pricey (but very useful) item, and, for the small cost difference, you'll want to be sure to get at least 4 years out of it without having to buy another.

Great quality Jack.. I’ve had a RAM jack on one of my horse trailers for over 2 years without ANY problems.. When I purchased a second trailer I had been so spoiled to not have to crank that I couldn’t be without another one! Some claim they are to slow.. but I say it’s as fast (and sure a lot easier) than cranking it! 3500# has no trouble raising the trailer & it’s a breeze to use.. It “would” be pretty easy to install.. we ran into problems on the trailer side that made it a little more challenging.. I totally recommend this electric jack & wouldn't be without it now!

I broke my hand crank jack when setting up my TT at a campsite. Found this one and decided to get it based on price, it has a light, and had good reviews. Had it delivered to a close by friend's house. I have only had to use it a couple times so far, and it is working great for me so far. It is a bit slow, but holding a button is a whole lot easier than cranking the old jack up and down. And between the time it took cranking, resting, cranking, resting, and using this one, I'd say I don't really lose time overall. Plus I don't break a sweat doing it. Came with washers, but not the bolts, which was fine since the bolts from the old one were still good. The power wire was plenty long enough to get to my battery. I was able to bolt it on and have it working within a half hour. I had a 2000 lb hand jack, and this is a 3500 lb. I need to lift the jack with my van connected to get the arms on my hitch connected, and it had no problem what so ever lifting the weight. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Bolted right in, does not come with new bolts, but thats minor. Like the light, comes with a handle for manual operation. Jacks my camper up just fine. Like the drop plate as well. I have no issues with the speed, its maybe no faster than I could crank it before, now I just hold the button. Love it.

Love it even though it’s slower than cranking. The only red wire can be temporarily bolted under the current connection till I take the time to attach a ring. ;) Be careful not to go past the indicated point ( stuck on label, lol ). The grease will mark this spot after the first couple moves. The arrows on the switch indicate which way it will raise or lower not…. The light shines down as well. Happy camping!

Easy to install but the ram is a little on the slow side when raising or lowering but overall works well.

This electric trailer jack was easy to install. As many have commented, it is slow, but it does the job with ease. I absolutely love it. I would recommend it to anyone who has a travel trailer and is sick of manually cranking up and down the trailer.
