The intricate designs on this plate are carved while the terracotta is still soft. Once it hardens, the artists paint the plate and then fire it in a kiln. The carving process gives the plate a deeper dimension than other flat ceramic pieces. It instantly feels like something hand made as opposed to factory-made ceramics. Additionally, each piece is entirely unique and signed on the back by the artist. There are larger and smaller sizes of plates available in the collection, along with canisters and other coordinating items. Every item is certified food safe by the European Union.
