The National Parks Coloring Book

It is a nice book, but....
This review is for paperback version. I love National Parks, I like the drawings too in the book, but I can not use them all.. Drawings are on both side of the page, and my markers all bleed through. So I can use only one side, and have to decide which side I have to 'sacrifice' . So I can only use half of the book.I ordered the other version of the book, perforated, and much more expensive. I have not received it yet, but hoping it has drawings only on one side.March 8.The above review was for paperback version. I have now received the perforated copy of it. The rating will be the same, and the same problem with markers bleeding though the page to the other side of this page, and previous page. I can only use half of a book this way, a very expensive half of a book.

An honest review for mixed media
Pros: I was really excited to get this and try it out. The style is different and I’m a huge fan on Park art. Each park has a page.Cons:*The paper quality is poor. Crayons work. Pencils…the paper pulls up if you layer. Alcohol markers (which I use to lay down a base)? Nope! Bleeds so bad. And, since the pages are double sided, you’ll lose half the pages. Gel pens smear. I don’t understand this paper choice or double siding with poor quality paper.* for a coloring book, the images chosen to represent some parks are devoid of color opportunities. Yellowstone is a stylized version of Old Faithful. But, what about some of the rainbow colored pools? Zion is literally a non-descript section of the narrows. I feel like these were missed opportunities.

Relaxing and therapeutic
If you like coloring, and you like visiting National Parks, then this coloring book is for you! It has a coloring page for each of the 59 national parks, some with animals and others with points of interest, hiking trails, natural monuments inside a particular park, etc. Random facts are trickled throughout the book so you're learning a little bit of information along the way, which is fun. Also, the pages are thick and durable (not like some cheaply made coloring books) making it nice to use markers (probably not sharpies though) without the risk of bleeding through to the other side.

Illustrations are very well done. Some sample pages would have been nice - didn't realize that written descriptions of the parks are scattered all over the pages in whatever white space is available - not great if you'd like the focus to be on the art and coloring.

Coloring our National Parks is a great way to get to know them
I like this coloring book as it gives me a better incite to the parks I have yet to visit. This way I will know more about them before I go there.

Beautiful and informative
As a lover of both national parks and adult coloring, I was pleased to find this book. I loved the beautiful nature scenes, and loved being able to learn about some history of the national parks, and the plants and animals that reside there, while I was enjoying the artwork. Highly recommended!

Not just a coloring book-includes plants and animals from featured National Parks
Such a great little coloring book to introduce my grandkids to the National Parks! The illustrations are professional, not fake looking. Native animals and plants are shown.

Beautiful Pictures!
This book has wonderful pictures to color! I would suggest it more for middle schoolers or high schoolers as the difficulty of coloring is low. There isn’t as many details in the pages as I would’ve thought.
